Thank you for taking us on your trip. I am a retired bricklayer in Southern Ohio and we have traveled somewhat and know how enjoyable it can be. We are pretty much a stay at home couple now but travel on KZbin! Thanks again for all your videos, Greg

Nice travel vlog. Seeing the money Keith (and others) spend on the videography gear shows how far the community has come from recording stuff on their cell phones. Your quality is top notch too.

I live in Texas, and I know Keith's place is not quite on-the-way from Michigan. Still, visiting Keith's shop is worth some effort... it's all top notch work he's done on it, and in it.

It was beautiful! I was hoping they would turn off the lights so everyone could see how dark it gets but they only do that on a different tour that was closed since the bats were sleeping.

Thanks for the tour! That was a really pretty cave and I would love to know more about the construction of that dam at that lake. Not a common design I have seen.
@SolidRockMachineShopInc5 жыл бұрын
Hi Brian, That was a neat dam, I don't know where you would find more information on it. Steve
@kathyb71265 жыл бұрын
I can't really find any information on it other than that it was made with stone and concrete by the CCC. Here's a better picture of it on this website: www.onlyinyourstate.com/arkansas/mirror-lake-ar/

Almost sixty years ago i ground gears for helicopters on a Heald rotary grinder .We had to set machine to grind .0001 inch taper per inch to get parts to tolerance , hairpuller !

It makes perfect sense, because you have to consider that if your camera were to have as good a sound quality as the Zoom does, it would have to have the features of the Zoom, thus, be bigger. So whilst the Canon is a very good shooting camera, i strongly believe the sound is there just as a placeholder or as in Keith's case, a good way to sync up tracks without going to the excess of using a sound bump at start and stop. Interesting view, i had a feeling he'd gotten something along those lines, tripods can get messy and annoying after a while, so you're left, really with two options. a. a rolling tree b. a camera gantry/a ceiling tree with a central position (overlook on machinery). All depending on shop space, of course.

when going to remount your grinder magnetic base.. you might pick up a tube of Permatex #85420 at almost any parts store.. in the tube is a synthetic never hardening sealant called hylomar.. you can roll it out super thin with a rubber roller and perhaps some solvent for it.. i would have to look up what that is leaving a super thin coat on the bottom side of the magnet to prevent any coolant, water, air from getting under there and causing corrosion.. i have taken apart VW air cooled engine cases that were assembled with that from 15 or 16 years before.. there were no leaks and it was still tacky. can you roll it out thin enough to not cause any angle issues with your surface grinder i don't know.. you may want to clamp it down with bars across the magnet tightening it slightly repeatedly over an hour to squeeze out any that is too thick.

I so wish that all KZbin presenters took the trouble to close mic. Using the onboard mic leads to nasty hollow sounding audio that make a video entirely unwatchable. I mentioned this to someone who had actually made a series of video tutorials he was putting up for sale, and his audio was just terrible. The thing is he'd already spent a lot of time on this, so he tried to spin it saying the sound was part of the ambience of his shop (it was a woodworking channel). I just stopped following the channel and left his to it.
