my parents added me to their Lisbon trip as a birthday present for my 26th :-) we stayed in a gorgeous little apartment with a view of the water; we had delicious local mangoes (grown in greenhouses), lots of walking on the steep streets, I went vintage shopping, I got lots of glasses of freshly made orange juice and I even had a few plant based pasteis de natas !
This was a really nice little warm and light break from dark and bleak denmark, and the first trip I've gone on with my parents like this in several years! It was very wonderful, and I'm very grateful for the whole experience.
Lisbon struggles with mass-tourism, especially from the cruise ships, and I've generally tried to avoid the main clichés of only seeing -- and showcasing! - the place as this dainty perfect little place full of fun trains and sardine motifs and pastel de natas. It's also a big city with lots of crumbling buildings, gentrification from tourism, and real life people just living there and doing their thing. I hope this video feels balanced!
Hope you enjoy,
xx, Ida
