Ahh Peggy's Cove, my old stomping ground. Started working there as a safety/security officer (official title was... ugh... Rock Patroller) in 1998. Yup, the year Swissair flt. 111 crashed into the water 8 miles from the lighthouse. The gov't shut the rock patrollers down in 2000, and I went to driving & guiding tours out of Halifax to Lunenburg/Mahone Bay and Peggy's Cove. Ya need to be there during a storm...(nodding vigorously)

Thank you for another wonderful video highlighting Nova Scotia! With COVID and our mandatory 14 day isolation for travellers outside of the Atlantic provinces' bubble our tourism industry has been hit very hard this year. I see you guys have a penchant for wines. 🥂🍾Nova Scotia is an emerging wine province for its favorable microclimates mainly on the Annapolis Valley facing the Bay of Fundy. Hope you get to check that out on your next visit. If you love Lunenburg, you’ll definitely LURV Annapolis Royal. And of course, the Fall colours of Cape Breton Island at its peak (second to third week of October). And yes the rest of Canada thinks NS rains, fogs and snowmageddons. Many parts of the province including Halifax, actually do not hold snow long. I am not sure if someone suggested Carters Beach (1 hr fr Lunenburg further South) to you and Crystal Crescent Beach (30 mins fr Halifax)-they have Caribbean-like turquoise waters only that they’re usually almost all the time glacial. 😂 But absolutely pretty! ⚓️

Just got to make to make the decision whether to book or not. Only thing putting me off is the testing and uncertainly of restrictions being reimposed by UK government or Canadian government coupled with all the testing it sounds stressful. Jan 2020 - Please be aware that there is a mammoth viewing deck planned for construction at Peggy's Cove by June 2020, with cantilevered portions of the deck that will necessitate grading the granite boulders, pouring tons of concrete, and irrevocably changing this iconic view forever from many view planes. If you are concerned about this issue, and want more information, join the FB Group, Save the Natural Beauty of Peggy's Cove. Over 700,000 visitors go to this site annually, and if they do, they won't see this view anymore, unless the plans of Develop NS are stopped or curtailed.
