A completely different video from which I am accustomed, but had the urge to visit Jon's resting place and decided to video the occasion.

I guess that the head stone fits the man himself. Good wine needs no bush; He was quite humble about his achievements. The best way to honour him is by keeping his music alive.

I’m agreed! He was the lord and he only has a simple place where should be a big monument for what he did for the music, I started playing keyboards thanks to him. Great video! Thanks for share it

I first heard Jon lord laying down a solo on a second hand LP I found at a jumble sale years ago. It completely blew me away that someone could literally seem to fight with their instrument to get every morsel of sound out of it. It was from a band at their peak. The album was 'Made in Japan' Jon's solo along with 'Blackmore's on 'Highway Star' absolutely stappled my ears back it was so good and still gives me goosebumps all these years later. Best 30p I ever spent. But Jon I guess was a humble man and in that regard I suppose it fits the person beautifully. Always with Jon I say the same thing. Let the music do the talking. Thank you for the video.

Thank you very much, sir. It's a little bit sad to see such a humble tombstone for such s great musician, but on the other hand, greatness isn't measured by the size of tombstones. His music is the best memory. Thank you once again.

Lovely tribute Merv… I am an organist / keys player of some 55 years now and was heavily influenced by Jon Lord , Rick Wakeman Keith Emerson and others but for me Jon was the number one driving hard edge player with classical undertones. Thoroughly nice chap too. Musical world poorer for his passing.. Thanks again.

Thank you Gary for your kind words. I tried for many years to learn the piano / keyboard but just didn't have that natural musical ability. This made me appreciate musicians such as Jon so much more.

@@mervtaylor I was very fortunate in that my grandad was a superb ragtime pub player therefore I was exposed from a young age, not to the pub😸but his playing , and picked up an awful lot from him .

I am a keyboard player and Mr Jon Lord is the motivation for me being a musician and my instrument of choice. Thank you so much for this video. I believe no writings can describe how Jon Lord made the world better place by his music. And I agree 100 percent that Jon Lord is such a pleasure to watch and listen to. Always brings a simle.

Man, you sound so sincere doing this, and I thank you for that. Jon Lord was my inspiration, and Deep Purple was my favourite band growing up. (Still Is), unfortunately, due to me gigging, I never got the chance to see my hero,but when I started doing fewer gigs, I went to see Don Airey,fantastic player,but not Jon Lord. Jon Lord was everything and more. I'd love to visit this place before my end,but I suppose keeping it this way will save people with other intentions away from it. Thanks again, and I could tell that came from the heart ❤️...🎹💔🎶

I don't know how to feel about the "low key" arrangement for JL remains. In Italy we say that death is a level. Maybe he wanted it that way. But it would be good to have him in an artists cemetery, where people could find him and pay respect.

@@mervtaylor The original reason I got into Deep Purple was because of Jon Lord. Unfortunately after Hendrix rock music evolved to be dominated by guitar and by the 90s keyboards were almost completely eliminated. I think Jon saw that and he started focusing more and more on classical music. Jon was an amazing player and a class guy. His music will be there forever.

Soo what's that tune on the heady stone? Looks like a waltz...
@ffrederickskitty21410 ай бұрын
It’s a waltz 3/4, written for C maj stave, but the root note appears to be A. I don’t recognise it though I’m not the best at sight reading.
