Wither skeletons are the easiest to kill. Wither skeletons are 3 blocks of height while the player is 2 blocks of height, meaning if you place blocks on the 3 block of height for the wither skeletons, they won't be able to get to you and then you can just fight them without them touching you. (Unless you get too close).

When your hearts turned green that was poison from a potion the was thrown by a witch, anyway, the poison won't kill you it will only bring you to half a heart, as you experienced. The bow is the witch's weakness. Please like this so he can see it!

My preferred method of beating witches is to charge them immediately and smack them before they throw a potion. If you damage them enough they switch to drinking regen potions and you can kill before they finish it. They usually don't throw a single potion, but even if they do it's usually poison so it won't kill, and they sure ain't getting the chance to throw a second one. Granted, I still play 1.7.10 cause that's the most recent version that has a stable version of my favorite mod, so maybe witches have been changed since then and I just don't know about it.

witches only throw potions of instant damage, poison and weakness. When they get damaged, they drink a potion of instant healing. When they fall in lava or catch on fire, they drink a potion of fire resistance.
