Most of the founding members of Warlord Games are all ex GW staff. I used to work for GW as ir was my hobby but whilst working there found the other firms that did historical wargaming, and that is were my love for history wargaming came from.

That's very true, and I think a lot of current staff are ex GW too. I think a lot of wargamers come into the hobby that way, then branch out so it's only natural that there'd be a lot of ex GW staffers. Considering how the GW dominates the Nottingham wargaming scene and with the 'lead belt' being based there you get a lot of pollination into all the other games - but it all starts at GW!

Warlord Games do guided tours of the factory each Friday - it costs £15 and they show you the making of the metal & resin figures. You also get a bunch of freebies - when I went earlier this year I selected the 'Ewarts Eagle' and a sprue of Prussian infantry in Epic scale, plus a couple of other metal figures.

I think they implemented the guided tours after I visited because I did read about the option later but I could be wrong. That Ewart's Eagle exclusive is fantastic, very dynamic pose, hard to get too, great choice

Oh I love Warhammer World, I'd like to go back and spend more time there at some point, but the whole area has a few miniature HQs around, which is great for the mini enthusiast!

What do you think about "Epic" from Warlord? I have played 1/72 napoleonics and 28mm ACW. I like "mass effect" (I miss you Shepard) with the new Epic scale...I hope they will produce antiquity Epic...I dream about mini-forests of diminute sarissas...😁😁😁

Honestly I think Warlord Games Epic Battles series is great, the minis look fantastic, especially when ranked up as armies in their 'mass effect.' I really like smaller scales, they make battles far more practical to play out, I've always wanted to try Adeptus Titanicus. I think 15mm is a far more popular scale for ancients than 1/72 and companies like Xyston and Westwind productions already make Macedonians but I'd really like Warlord to expand to antiquity too - more choice!

@@gabrielnguyen5580 Haha I think online shopping is your friend. I buy everything online, just for practicality. I wished more people played 1/72 ancients, now that's a niche wargaming segment... I'm doing my part to promote it lol

Warlord is everything Games Workshop isn't. Resonably priced, customer orientated and have a far superior catalogue. Games Workshop is an over-priced company that focus on 2-3 core games that they constantly reinvent in order to grab more money. I used to play Warhammer 40k but now I play Bolt Action. The actual player base of Warlord is far more mature and a lot less sweaty about gaming.

Well, all you have to do is look how often new editions of 40K come out to see how they like to reinvent the wheel, you would think after 10 editions you could balance the game, but it's more profitable to keep releasing new editions haha!
