Beautiful ship and location. Yes, local poverty is always hard to see. Omelettes or French toast - I’ll take either one! Looks like an unusual itinerary. Shame that beach club was deserted. You definitely wouldn’t be mistaken as locals!😂

22:00. French cheese buffet. 😆 Had a good chuckle at that. On a Caribbean cruise in 2018, one night a French couple sat at the table next to us. For dessert, one of them asked for the cheese plate. When the cheese plate was served, their faces just dropped as if it was inedible. We noticed their reaction, and the husband turned towards us and just said: “It’s not French cheese.” 😂😂😂

Well after these vlogs Ponant is back in the running with Silversea for the Lesser Antilles Retirement/Big Birthday cruise planning, the small ship/less dining choice took it off the list previously, but we are such French cuisine fans I think that won't matter if we pick Ponant. We are very excited for the beaches and snorkeling. Do you find self touring for the beaches better than booking a beach shore excursion in the Lesser Antilles?

Thanks for watching guys 😊 We tend to prefer exploring independently if we can and tbh we think it was the best option on our Ponant cruise. The one excursion we did was ok but we would probably have had a better day doing our own thing in all honesty. What more do you need than a nice beach and a decent beach bar when you’re in the Caribbean 😁🍹☀️🏝️

If you had to choose, which islands would you recommend? The ones your visiting now ( on this series) or Tahiti? Hawaii is also a consideration but not sure. Thoughts? Thanks so much for your content, I love escaping to your adventures. By the way I like this format, a little different form your previous videos. We have yet to visit Hawaii so can’t offer any advice on that but Tahiti was one of our favourite ever destinations so would definitely win in a competition with the Caribbean. Even though we love the Caribbean there’s something extra special about French Polynesia ❤️

GOATS: If I remember correctly, there are lots of goats on the islands because pirates and other seafaring folk would dump a few off on every island, so that if they were ever to be in a shipwreck nearby, they would know there would be food available.

You are pronouncing Dominica slightly incorrectly. It is Dom-i-KNEE-ka. I believe there is someplace else with the same name but pronounced as you are pronouncing it. Dominica has lots of natural beauty but I don't think the beaches are really what you go there for. We've done hikes into the hills to see waterfalls, hot pools and stunning mountains. We've also done tubing down the river which was also spectacular. I know they also have a lot of areas where you can see whales. There is also an area where you can snorkel and see natural bubbles in the sea. Lots of underground activity.

Keep in mind that Dominica is still recovering from the effects of Hurricane Maria (Category 5 storm)…hence the damage still visible in areas.
