Another fun trip with my favorite SALTY couple Oliver and Stef. That bridge over the intercostal water way looks like it’s over 50 feet in the air. Glad you guys enjoyed your trip to NC and thank you both for taking the xtra gear to bring us along. Like Oliver I would bring my fishing gear along with me. Wish SALTY REFLECTIONS family and fans the best of life from me and mine. Gods speed to ya all. 🎥💯👍

We are those people too! 🤗🙋🏼♀️ We have lots of broken shells in our collection too! I have become more selective now that my shell collection has grown to the point that I've actually started sharing them 😂 ... thru channel giveaways, Patron gifts, as well as some sales ... just because I don't have anymore room to put our new finds if I didn't! 🤪 Shell hoarder problems! 😂😆 & I still keep the broken pieces of some shells that aren't common to our area. 🤦🏼♀️ They are really cool & show the physical structure of the exoskeleton! 😁🙃

I am watching this for the first time. It brings so many beach memories. On June 27 2004 my husband was playing in the ocean as always. I heard laughter that turned to screams. My husband had a fatal cardiac a cardiac cardiac arrhythmia. It began the new normal of our lives. Our kids were 14 and 11 and still after all these years we are still struggling with the loss. I am taking notes because my sister and I are planning a late summer trip and a winter shelling trip. Now I don’t know what each of you did/do for a career/job. I need the name of your financial planner. LOL I can smell the beach scents. When we come over on the bridge we roll down the windows and breathe deeply. We take a picture and send it to the family that are not down or back home. May the Lord bless your lives with the joy I have had just watching your Holden Beach shelling adventure. Safe travels where ever you are shelling.
@SaltyReflections2 жыл бұрын
😔 I am so sorry, Ms. Penny, to hear about your husband! Prayers for you & your family! 🙏 I can't imagine your loss! How tragic! 💔😭 I can imagine the beach brings mixed emotions for you & your family now, understandably. Although, we all say we would like "to go" doing something we love, but being the loved one left behind, I can't imagine you would feel any comfort in that at all though. 🙏 We can only trust in God's will & try to live everyday as if it may be our last. Several of our loved ones (2 of our parents, our grandmothers, my sister twice & several friends) are/were widowed & to be honest, 😔💔 the loss of our loved ones & the struggles we see their spouses endure has encouraged us to make some of the changes in our life that we have in the last few years in order for us to be able to do some of the things we enjoy more often in life. If you follow along with our channel often, you see we try to get out & enjoy as much as we can as often as we can in this short life together! We are very aware from going thru our own family's losses that one day we are going to wake up to a whole different normal life! We know that one day, we won't be able to watch these videos together & laugh & joke or argue with one another, that we'll be watching just for the memory of one or the other & eventually our family watching for the memory of us both! 😭 We are blessed with each new memory the Lord allows us to make together & with our families! As far as careers, we have had a goal of being able to live near the coast every since we were young, so Oliver & I have both worked 2 & sometimes 3 jobs at a time for over 20 years (& still do), to be able to achieve our dreams of living by the sea! 🤑 We are pretty frugal people & not worried about "keeping up with the Jones" & we have sacrificed & saved a lot to be able to live the way we do now. We don't live in the biggest house (matter of fact our house is tiny), we don't live in the "best" neighborhood or in the "best" area, we don't have new boats or cars, we catch a lot of the food we eat, we shop at thrift stores & yard sales & we reuse, recycle & repurpose as much as possible! & most importantly - I'm not ashamed, matter of fact, I'm PROUD of all that! We are both from poor families & to be able to achieve the lifestyle we love is 💯 worth the work & sacrifice we have had to make! I'm glad we were both taught that if we had dreams we were gonna have to work to achieve them! Of course it would've been easier maybe just to be born into "rich" families but 🤷🏼♀️🤷♂️😂. I would definitely put Holden Beach on your list to visit. It has been one of our favorite places that we have gone as far as shelling! It is easily accessible without a long walk to AWESOME finds! We hope you ladies have a great time! Happy Shelling! & Thank you for sharing with us! Bless you! 🙏🫂

@@SaltyReflections Stephanie, thank you for your kind words and for making me more aware of everybody has had loss in their lives. Your family has had more than one family should. I hope you know my comments about your jobs/careers was not asked with ill-intent. I have gone back and watched your videos from your oldest to videos posted within a year. I have some down time with ice packs so I plan to finish those over the weekend. 😁 The amount of time just to record and edit the videos is more than a full time job. So I was just sharing, giving some background info so you guys can get to know us a little better. 👍😁 You're right! ✅️ KZbin is a full time job. It's always fun exploring a new beach! Glad you got a chance to do that. Also happy to see the new shell bags!😊 I can't believe there weren't hardly any people out there. Hard to know if the dredging broke the shells or if the surf does it. I was pretty disappointed the renourishment at Honeymoon Island state park where I shell didn't seem to produce the shells that other beaches did. From Indiana…been to Holden Beach about 10 times over the last 30 years, with children, now without. Hoping to return with grands in a few years. It’s 12 hours driving.

Found the Holden beach videos thank you! Glad to see the beach improvements! My favorite place to go is when you come off the bridge turn left go all the way to the end of road and it’s free parking. It’s still a good walk to the end of the beach then at the point across the waterway is Oak Island

I just love watching you guys shelling. I will be in SC for the 1st time ever next week. Bluffton, Beaufort, Murrells Inlet and then back to Charleston. Looking to relocate so we will be checking all areas along the coast. Beaufort is my 1st choice!! Maybe we will run into you on a beach somewhere. I’ll be the crazy lady running up to you like you’re a celebrity, to share my finds lol. Thank you for sharing your beautiful videos.

You've got so much stuff in the wagon, where you gonna put the shells? You need a second wagon! 😅 Do you ever sell any of your shells? You two are perfect filming together. Full of info and fun! Love your videos! ❤❤❤❤❤❤
@SaltyReflections Жыл бұрын
We packed our wagon & thought we might just sit on the beach & Oliver fish a little. 🤪😵💫 But the shells drew us in! We wound up shelling instead of sitting & fishing! 😆 We do have an eBay shop (link in video description) where we sell some shells occasionally ... if Oliver twists my arm enough to give up a few. 😱🫣😄 We don't have much listed currently. It's so time-consuming, but we need to get some more things listed. Thanks for coming along for the adventure! 🌊🐚👣

Yes ma'am, we are blessed to share a lot of similar interests! 🙏🥰 He tries to act like he only shells 🙄 because of me, but y'all see how excited he gets! 🤩😂 He loves it! It's a treasure hunt! Show your hubby some of the cool antique bottles, bullet casings & 4000 year old Indian ceremonial pipe artifact Oliver has found while shelling, you might talk him into venturing out with you next time to see what he might find! 😉 Thanks for joining us! 💙🌊👣🐚

Wow! I havent been to Holden in years but this video makes me want to go back. Love all the olives, coral and shark eye. I would love to find a sea biscuit and I love anything fossilized. My rarest find is a 5 inch spearhead from Edisto Island. So fun to watch you guys shell!
@SaltyReflections2 жыл бұрын
Now's the time to go back and visit Holden Beach if you love shells. It's loaded with treasures. The spearhead is a great find. We also found a spearhead on a riverbank 10 miles or so from Edisto. Sad to say, it was broken. Still a cool find.

@@SaltyReflections yes it is. It's in the Oregon Inlet area which also offers a great fishing experience. There's a 1200 foot bridge that was converted to a walk on fishing pier as well as Jennette's Pier and Nags Head Pier which are nearby. They are open most of the year here.
