Hello Scott I created some things in photoshop, I could tell if I need to create all layers at one time, and how to import into the game field inside VPX, I'm having problems, although my desktop looks good, thank you
@scottwickberg4136 жыл бұрын
well so you'll export your playfield as a single file - as a jpg and then plastics as a different one. make as many layers as you'd like in photoshop then export a flat file of your full playfield

Hey scott, Im sure this is a dumb question but I cant find an answer anywhere. When I try to create a new file, the only option that opens is the sample table, not a blank canvas. Any help? I dont want to have to delete everything on the sample table just to start from scratch

Hey Scott I am working on trying to build a virtual pinball game that has dimensionality to it and was wonder if I could hire you to help with a little coding. I need two screens for each table, each different in what part of the table they show. I would fill you in on that more but was interested to know if this program would allow for output of the table onto two different screens? That part is key. Let me know and thanks for any help.

Hi! Nice videos you have made! I am running my cabinet with a 144Hz screen to get a really smooth ball (running at 120Hz to match my other 2 60Hz) I have issues with some tables and all seems to make ball shutter when flashers (or other lights) lights up, I would therefore want to try to disable/remove some to test if my issue goes away. Can you give me some tip how I would easiest do that.Just locate the light/flasher and delete it in the editor, or remark some lines in the script or just disable the object if possible.As you can hear I am new on this design part of a table...The worst table is AFM when I hit the big ship in the middle and when the bright strobe lights starts by the flippers.I have tried all graphical settings and nvidia settings but nothing helps. My friend is also running a gaming monitor and has the same issue.
@scottwickberg4137 жыл бұрын
don't delete it, the table will break. Click on it and find it's name. Then open the table script and search for that. Usually you'll find it in a few subs. comment out those subs by putting a ' at the start of the line - it'll go green.But once you comment out a sub you'll need to then find places that sub is called and comment those out as well. (generally not the whole sub just the call from one sub to fire another one.) best of luck If you haven't checked yet, make sure your backglass is always running in exe mode. This often creates ball stutter on flashes if it's not in exe mode.
@CalleVesterdahl7 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your input.Tried some yesterday and manage to get AFM playable, it has a lot of flashes on one layer.Now I will see if I can change some blinking or something to get some kind of effect but not the strobe effect. backglass is in exe and problem exist even if I disable backglass.Is all lamps and flashes triggered by the script or can just the ROM itself trigger some effects by calling a lamp/flash object name?
@scottwickberg4137 жыл бұрын
flashers triggered by the rom, but actually ran through the script.

there's a solid group of us out there to help along the way so you won't be alone. But I won't lie it's a bunch of work. But in the end you'll have created a game that people all over the world can play, which you know, is neat.

Scott Wickberg - I am “tabascoman77” on VPForums and I’m always around to talk. I’m trying to make a pseudo-sequel to Twilight Zone but I’m not making a copy or using any features from the original table. I really wanna make it cool - but don’t want players to overdose on audio clips or a ton of video - I wanna do a classic DMD with animations. :) I’m just afraid of 3D models and scripting. :-/

Nope. Two different systems. Future pinball is pretty much abandoned and has poor physics. Visual pinball or vpx is alive and progressing all the time. Check out vpinball.com or vpforums.org

Hey Scott, great stuff. I was wondering where you got the VPX table template...do you just find an existing table that you like and strip it or is there an actual base template to work off?
