As someone who has been involved in project management for most of my career, I really appreciate this video,. I think a lot of people think that project/time planning is much more rigid and that if you don't have exact deadline dates, you're not going to get things done. Knowing a basic timeframe for projects, with non-optimistic time scheduling and lots of wiggle room is a much more sustainable system, especially for a team of one.

This was so great!! I feel a little bad asking this now that I know how many crazy throw down videos you have coming up, BUT… I would love to see a video on how you’re making Pinterest work for you as an artist!!! It’s been really difficult to find any useful information on that topic. Just an idea for your video bank! Thanks for all your awesome content ❤

For your templates, consider a laser printer and printing on laser printer friendly vellum/duralar or acetate instead of paper- makes the templates waterproof and really extends their life. I have seen vellum made from recycled plastics, and even made out of rocks (stone paper)

I know I've seen Similar systems but this video lays out your process so well that I think I might use it too! Love this organizational chart. Never seen it broken down like this before. I don’t even do pottery! I sew/quilt and always have a large project going. I like watching how you break projects down into segments. I’d be interested to find out what time you start your business day and what time you end it. Thanks!

Paused the video to say what you're describing for your charity template membership club sounds a lot like Patreon. A ton of artists have found that approach profitable and it could also provide you with additional opportunities to include storytelling. Tier one gets you the monthly template, tier two gets you the template plus an exclusive video where you're just talking about stuff, etc...

One way you could give back, might be to offer an apprenticeship. It would be a great learning opportunity for everyone as we follow along with your apprentice. Eg about what skills and knowledge gan apprentice needs to to start with and what skills they would develop during the apprenticeship. It would make us aware of all the routine and dirty background chores required in a pottery studio, as well as behind the scenes stuff like sourcing supplies, video production and marketing.

If you're doing prints that are 12x18" or smaller, I'd highly recommend the Canon iX6820. It's about $120 and can use off-brand ink (no difference in quality). I've been using that printer for my print business for 3 years now and it has been great for me! For larger prints, the price goes up considerably. There don't appear to be laser options for large format/plotter printers. A entry-grade one would be HP DesignJet T210 and that prints up to 24" wide. There are usually the same printer with a different model number for EU distribution, so if you can't find it near you, it's likely under a different name!
@PotterytothePeople
@PotterytothePeople 8 ай бұрын
Thanks for the tip! I was looking for a laser because of the cost of ink, but I will look into this one too! That size would work for me also.
