This slideshow is awesome really...!! I am trying to make a birthday video, and i did this slideshow like you, but when i want to watch it back its lagging and the DVE effect don't work well.. :/ (In the start everything is perfect for a few pictures, but after that its working in half or not..) Do you have any ideas? (If i doing that DVE and render the full video maybe it will work?) Thank you! ^^ (ofc i optimalized all of my stuff to great in davinci, nvidia panel, drivers)

Hi Rico, great slideshow technique. I've nearly finished my first attempt but I have modified it a bit, eg doing the animation for half the duration of each photo and also using different values for both X and Y axes at the same time. DVE with Fusion must be really resource hungry as I could only do 2 to 3 photos in DVE/Fusion before DaVinci crashed - I am using DaVinci Studio 17 Beta 3 and my PC is 32Gb RAM and 512Mb SSD main drive etc etc. But the result is worth the hassle of the crashes. I thought it would be easy and quick to do this. Your instructions were easy to follow. I created a slideshow for a client's house for sale but the dang thing constantly crashes on renders and takes 30 minutes before it does. I literally spent all day on - a slideshow, lol. I have one render (of 3) in 1080 that completed. Why does it take 30 minutes (and fail) to render a 3 minute slideshow? My 4K videos take half as long as they are to render (not 10X). Ideas?

Good to hear you find my video easy to follow. The reason it's slow/takes long/rough on your system is because the DVE effect (and rendering it) is a very demanding process. I'm not sure why it fails to render for you, do you have the minimum specs required? Please remember that free requires a strong CPU and Studio is based on the GPU. For 4k a minimum of 8GB videocard is required and for fusion effects a minimum of 32GB is required (but in my opinion 64GB is recommended).

Hi, I am using Davinci Resolve 16 and I have to use fusion tab to add DVE effect. that's not a problem for me but the thing is there is no option to change the color of the border. should I change it to resolve 17 to get the option?

Yes, as far as I know it's available from 17 and up. However, it's not a stable version. It tends to crash quite some times, especially when adding fusion effects. If you don't have to upgrade, then my suggestion is to wait for a stable version :)

I have the same issue :/ And it is even that I can't undo - if I adjust the zoom with the transition in place just nothing happens..And without zoom I have a "blank space" between picture and the frame, so it doesn't work that way.. Nobody else with that issue who found out already what you can do about this?

The clips need to be attached to eachother. You place the transition as an overlay, not in between it.

Volgens mij wel, moet je even kijken of DVE tot je beschikking is. Anders kan je dit in theorie ook op een andere wijze doen, door meerdere video lagen en dan handmatig te verkleinen en verplaatsen etc.

@@RicoResolves Ik heb het net weer geprobeerd met een foto, maar nu werkt ook het effect niet bij de foto... Toen ik dit een paar dagen geleden probeerde lukte het wel. Als ik nu op de foto druk en ik naar effecten ga staat er wel bij dat het DVE effect is toegepast, maar ik zie niet dat de foto verkleind in de hoek staat met een rand er omheen (ook niet als ik de onderste foto “uitzet”). Mijn laptop is vrij nieuw dus dat zou geen probleem moeten zijn.

I tried to use DaVinci Resolve 17 following these instructions. It told me I had run into limit of DaVinci Resolve when I tried to apply the Lens Blur effect. Now it wants $299 to use those features.
