VisualARQ 1: how to extend a wall to a freeform roof 2

The video tutorial shows how to extend a wall to a freeform roof, and see the changes when you modify the roof and wall shape.

hi, i got a try on rhino5. That problem which mention by ZIjian appear. When I extend wall to surface first, it work well. However, the wall go back to unextend condition after I offset the wall. ;(

Hi Rentian, If you move the wall, it should keep the connection with the surface or polysurface where it has been extended to. But take in mind that if the wall is situated out of that surface/polysurface boundary (in vertical projection), it won't be extended and will keep its original height. Cheers.

Hi Zijian, Have you extended the wall to the surface before doing the surface offset? Did it work? After extending the wall to a surface, this connection should be kept, even if you do an offset of that surface. Please let me know if it still doesn't work. thanks

When I offset the surface, the wall won't extend to the surface, in other words, I cannot select surface?

I also have Zijian's problem and after I ofset the surface the wall becomes unextended. also is it possible to create wall from a closed curve? because it looks wall command only works for open curves

+Roozbeh Mahmoodi Since VisualARQ 1.7.3 it is possible to create walls from closed curves. The wall shouldn't unextend after offsetting the surface. Make sure you delete the input when running the OffsetSrf command, otherwise the wall will keep attached to the original surface. Write me to [e-mail] if the problem persists.

There is no wall from curves command now, nor to mention the command lines are all different :(

Hi Ali Yu, this video was recorded with VisualARQ version 1. There have been many changes and improvements since then. The wall from curves command has its own icon the current 2.8 version.

Hi Mastura, the command is now called: _vaWallExtend. It can be found under the Walls Toolbar, or in the menu VisualARQ > Walls > Wall Extend
