I have a question regarding the rendering after using visual arq to create a model. Does it work as well with vray as the main render program? I also wonder if you can add more furniture objects besides the one the program comes with ?? Thanks

VA has so many bugs regarding rendering. V-ray and Enscape does not work well. Yon can create and add your own customized furniture through GH style definition.

Hey guys just a question.... I love using rhino - I'm a student studying architecture. It seems like a large chunk of the industry uses revit for Bim. do u see vidarq taking over and becoming more mainstream? I really want to master rhino bc I love the work flow. Any insights would be appreciated

Exactly. The mainstream is using Revit but you can easily use Visualarq instead. Visualarq gives u ifc files (Industry Foundation Classes data model) which can be the same output for Revit. So I guess you can use Visualarq instead of revit and then export your final files with ifc format.

We've been using VA for last 5 years. My answer is 'no'. It will never be a mainstream. There have been a bit improvement, but it's still half-baked software. You need master-class skill for grasshopper to cover it's weakness.

I'll try it out, i had to do something in revit for a class and it was torture... Might be easier in an rhino environment.

It is definitely easier & faster with Rhino. Revit is the king of BIM but Rhino is finding its place with its powerful plugins. VisualArq has a bright future especially with Grasshopper

Manuel Camelo from your rendering I can understand you are weak in design so there is no excuse that you don’t know how to use Revit. Listen I’m not even Revit fan I use Archicad because personally I find Revit little constrain but it doesn’t mean Revit is bad actually it’s almost perfect very strong in MEP and EEP the documentary task it’s really strong. For rhino it’s super weak in BIM tasks even when you add Visualarq but people like to use it because it’s freedom specially in curves. There is pros and cons for each one but Revit is way stronger than what you think. Ps: study some composition, structure and elements so your rendering will not look like a child mess

Open a new document from a VisualARQ template. They come already with a library of different object styles for each object type.

There's no extra file, just Visualarq library and I think you can have full access to it's features with a student license.

How do you create roof using VisualArq and grasshopper? Everytime I make the roof, it is always on the floor.

You can not use roof feature for roof. Its functionality is very poor. There is almost nothing that you can do with roof feature. Its just 'better than nothing.'

Yes you can easily convert any solid to a wall.define a curve as the path of the wall and use the wall menu > from solid. You can then add windows or doors to that wall

Hi! I think I'm wasting my time with VisualArq it doesn't work. When I do the floor plans, the ground floor projects the upper floor, it only happens for the ground floor, I have tried everything but it doesn't work. I have set the projections in dotted line and it doesn't work. Sin. Solution? VisualArq 2.8.14192

I guess you might have enabled the "plan view reference" of the upper floor on the ground floor. You can turn it off from the Level Manager. It's the icon that shows a door in plan view next to each level. When enabled, it shows the plan view representation of that level projected on the current floor.

Yeah. It's really hard to learn without the student version.. May be the 30 day trail is good. It says some features won't function after the trail subscription expires. Does anybody have idea how much restrictions we get after the subscription ends

I doubt anyone would use this program. Any self-respecting architect to create construction documentation will use more professional programs. To acquire neutered BIM software for sketching is nonsense.

@@ParametricHouse A good option for students is free software. And even better-the software that will be used in the workflow. And this program it is unclear on that claims. In the BIM environment, players have already formed, whose programs are used in conjunction with Rhino. Even for professional users, this is absurd, first lay out the money for Rhino, and then buy visualarq. And all for the opportunity to draw walls as in Revit or Archicad?
