Rising oil prices are proving to be a boon for oil-producing countries such as Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates. However, the jackpot may end up going to another small emirate of the Persian Gulf, the same one that stars in the most watched video in the history of VisualPolitik: we are talking, of course, about the small emirate of Qatar.
A country that despite its size has become one of the heavyweights in the export of liquefied natural gas, the gas that is transported in liquid form in large methane tankers and which has become the European Union's only hope of freeing itself from Russian gas and the consequent yoke of Moscow.
But to what extent is Qatar really important in the energy market? How much money does this small emirate make from gas exploitation? Why do we say that it is one of the big "winners" to come out of the Ukrainian war? In this video we tell you all the details.

We used to live in Saudi Arabia for 11 yrs & we visited Qatar many times it’s our second relaxing place behind Bahrain coz the distance is very close & Doha, Qatar is about 4 hrs drive from us. Staying in Qatar is very relaxing we can drink alcohol which is prohibited in Saudi Arabia and eat any kind of foods we want and most of all very safe and Qatari are very nice and friendly people. People who never been to Qatar think Qatar is bad they are absolutely wrong you can walk anywhere in Doha & no one will harm you. It’s a very modern & very clean country and by the way try flying Qatar Airways you will love it the comfort & the service that you can’t find in US airlines😃

The major beneficiaries of the Russia-Ukraine war are Qatar, Australia, Canada, USA and China. Russia was a large producer of Gas, Oil, Coal, Nickel, Gold, Aluminium, Potash (with Belarus), Nitrogen and Phosphate Fertilizers, and Agricultural grains like wheat, corn, sunflower and other commodities, which are largely produced by these other countries as stable substitutes. The other major beneficiary will be Iran, as global pressure will build to allow Iran to sell oil and gas again with the repeal of sanctions and a hostile Iran threatens the strait of Hormuz. Geopolitically, Turkey will also benefit substantially, as it controls the only other transit routes for oil and gas pipelines from the Middle East and Central Asia to Europe and global markets via the Mediterranean.

I would argue Australia gains more. Australia has everythign that is lost by Russian Ukraine invasion... the issue is that it wont see the boost till about December 2022. Why? Because Harvest time for Australian crops is November. Australia produces LNG, Coal ( a substitute for countries needing energy without gas), and a large amount of exportable wheat. Added to this fact, but it is a La nina year, which means Australian farms have recieved lots of rain while competitive countries like the US and South America have recieved less. Australia, however, will not see this growth till the end of the year. So what happens to Ukrainian and Russian resources of gas and wheat could change.

Yes true Qatar is the biggest beneficiary of all this but LNG cost much more than the pipeline gaz, add to it storage plants that yet to be built, most of Qatari volumes are locked into long-term contracts mostly to Asian buyers, the amount of divertable volumes that can be shipped to Europe is only 10-15% according to its energy minister. It cannot simply replace supply from Russia. Nord Stream 1 and 2 cannot be simply dismantled, eventually European countries will go back to buy Russian gaz once peace in the region is restored. I would go further to say even Ukrain pipeline will start operating at its normal capacity this will be in the peace talks agenda, those pipelines cannot be left to rust away, Russia has continue to pump gaz to Europe through those pipelines even as the two countries are engaged in war, do you think this will stop when the war ends.

I want to see more domestic generation of grid gas from our landfills, digestion and pyrolysis of organic byproducts and sewage solids/sludge. The biggest beneficiary from the Ukraine and Russia war is China. How? China is a manufacturing powerhouse and they import the most energy and commodities to produce these final goods. Russia currently exports most of its exported energy (oil and gas) and commodities for pennies on a dollar to China, then followed by India. China currently is the primary provider for high tech devices (i.e. Huawei) and even semiconductors to Russia. This war has made China less dependent on Middle East for energy, which must be shipped through the Straits of Malacca, a major choking point for imported energy. (China fabricated the 9 dash lines so they can protect their imported energy from the Middle East if a war breaks out.)

Prophet Muhammad's Prophecy One day, the earth witnessed the meeting of two great and noble beings. The best angel meets the greatest human. Archangel Gabriel came to meet Our prophet Muhammad. Gabriel came in human form. She came with a beautiful appearance. Wearing a very white shirt overlaid with dark hair. He came to dialogue with Prophet Muhammad to teach his companions. Gabriel asked about Islam, faith and ihsan. Then he asked about the sign of the apocalypse. Among the Prophet's answers were, "And if you see people walking barefoot, naked, needy, and shepherding goats, (then) vying to build tall buildings." (HR. Muslim).

Correction: Qatar is a Country, not Emirate. You can use the word Emirate to describe the 7 Emirate area in UAE for example. So Emirate means a part of a country. So Qatar is A country, not an Emirate. We are happy to welcome everyone to FIFA 2022.

Real question is why couldnt US benefit from the war? Why coudnt US supply the energy defecit, what were the failures of US. While US was warning EU of its dependence on Russia, why didnt US build the infrastructure?
@f1aziz
@f1aziz 2 жыл бұрын
Russia was pumping super cheap gas and oil in huge volumes into Europe for decades through the pipelines. No matter what infrastructure US builds, energy supplied through tankers making long voyages across the Atlantic will never even come close to the price Europeans were getting from the Russians. This is basic economics and logistics. US energy is just not cost effective for the Europeans, plus, US LNG is already producing at full capacity and has no spare capacity for the Europeans. It would take years and hundreds of millions of dollars to develop additional capacity for the Europeans.

Don't you think the USA and European arms manufacturers are also getting rich by giving weapons to Ukraine, I am very much sure that all the weapons giveaways are on credits to Ukraine 🇺🇦 , Britain is still paying the loan for the arms given by Americans in ww2
@natelincoln
@natelincoln 2 жыл бұрын
Not exactly. The US and Euro nations providing the arms are doing so mainly on a loan style situation. We are keeping a $ amount running tally for what gets sent over and Ukraine will have to pay everyone back after the wars end. The US being the financial tight wads we are I’m sure there’s a pretty high interest rate built into the agreement too. If we in the west and the Euro supporters were truly wanting to help Ukraine win then from the day intelligence over heard Russias plans then we would have made sure all the weapons and training needed would have been in the Ukrainian hands before the first shot was fired. Sad to say this will not end well for anyone at all. If anyone thinks Russia will continue to struggle while sitting on the largest stockpile of nuclear weapons your dead wrong. If they keep going and see no end or think they are going to lose they will start using them. In a “if I’m going down I’m taking as many with me as I can” way of thinking. Letting things go as we have is only pushing Putin in that direction.

Think that loan from Britain got paid off now. To be honest, the reality is Ukraine's economy will sink real fast. There's not much money to be made loaning to a country that's going to struggle paying it back. They're being invaded by one of the largest and most aggressive countries out there.
