@@nyhusdieter4086 that's a Max Nagl problem. A modern, stock 450 definitely has the power to clear the leap, rider dependent. Amateurs hit the leap all the time in stock classes. If Max was having trouble jumping it, it was a rider issue, save for an actual mechanical issue with the bike.

Got hurt ALOT more on 4strokes especially ATVs. If u were climbing a hill the 2stroke would spin out where the 4stroke would kick back. 2strokes have the power quicker where u need it.

2 stroke can more efficiently make more power than a 4 stroke of the same engine displacement “CC”. This means the 2 stroke bike will be faster in a straight line, but overall there are many factors determining the fastest dirt bike.Aug 18, 2022....two strokes handle turns faster because of the mass of the bike has a lower center of gravity ..that is why two strokes replaced four strokes in motocross In 1952, FIM took its place as the “motorcycling’s governing body”, forming the European Championship Series. At the time, the machines were equipped with 500 cc engines. By 1962, just one decade later, a new racing division was created, which used 250 cc engines. Eventually, the concept of 2-stroke engines emerged on the scene from companies like Greeves and Husqvarna. The new motocross bikes were much more lightweight and agile. And, unlike their 4-cylinder big cousins, they were much cheaper to maintain. Motocross races became even faster and longer than ever.

2 stroke seem to have a little advantage when the deep sand is wet it sit up on top of the soil an goes rather than dropping an digging i was watching south wick ...an notice the turns oddly the 2 stroke was shooting away an the 4 strokes where dropping down an spinning an then loosing forward proggress...i ride either...i stated on a 4 stroke in 1978...87 i had to figure out 2 strokes...now u guessed it i can just roll the throttle again...i was keeping up with 2 strokes on my street legal XL 125 1975 just more gear an a big paddle knobby...like a 990 dunlop

I have personally cleared Larracos leap twice on a slightly modified 2 stroke RM 125 in 1999. Then again, my coach was Mr. Mike Larraco himself who spent about an hour going through this track with me while we were at Super Cross a few months prior. 80% mental / 20% physical and bike.
