The word "rhodopsin" is derived from two Ancient Greek words: * ῥόδον (rhódon): Meaning "rose," referring to the pigment's pinkish color. * ὄψις (ópsis): Meaning "sight" or "vision." Therefore, "rhodopsin" literally translates to "rose-colored vision pigment." This name was given to the pigment due to its reddish-purple color and its essential role in the visual process.

Jaundice = maybe CT scan ( liver, pancreas, gallbladder. plus check the common bile duct channel), also check for fat in the stool 2) Hypercarotinemia= l will probably look at diet or something & maybe liver function test.
@thegreenhipster2 жыл бұрын
That’s a great answer. Bilirubin will be off the charts. You may find yellow of eyes in Jaundice that isn’t present in hypercarotinemia. For hypercarotenemia there will be an excess of Vit A in the blood work, possibly elevated AST and ALT from elevated liver conversion activity?

Search for most bioavailable form of vitamin A, that's what I do with most supplements. I believe retinyl palmitate or something was the bioavailable form and beta carotene (in veg etc) needs a conversion another step.

Thanks for this,if a supplement has 5000IU do I have to cut it in half because you said the recommended dose is 3000IU or is it alright to take 5000IU?
@kennythelenny6819 Жыл бұрын
So that depends on the design of the drug. Is it a tablet or capsule? If it's a tablet and has a groove marked in the middle, then yes you can split it I half but if not then it's hard to know especially if the design is either sustained or extended release. If it doesn't have the middle groove it might be difficult to know so you might want to reduce the dosage since 5000IU is higher than the recommended dietary allowance and I'm sure you already have a surplus because of your diet. Some literature suggests chronic long term use of over 25000IU per day will result in hypervitaminosis. Best bet is to try find a manufacturer selling lower dosage amounts, divide the tablet in half if applicable(groove score) or take the 5000 tablets but lower your weekly frequency dosage aka if you take one daily perhaps, take it on Monday, Wednesday and Friday only.

great vid if your vitamin a (retinol) is in range and beta carotene and alpha carotene is low does this mean your vitamin a deficient?

No. Beta carotene is provitamin A which gets activated to vitamin A aka retinol meaning you can't have one in range and the other isn't the way you phrased it.

Um I want to correct a mistake you said. We have two types of melanin, they are eumelanin and pheomelanin. Eumelanin is type of melanin that is dark. And phenomelanin is light skin. Albinism is too much pheomelanin and Hyperpigmentation is when skin produce too much EUmelanin.
