Damn you graduated the year I was born!! Time does pass by fast. My high school graduation is scheduled in May 2025.I don't wanna look forward to it but I'm on the right track towards graduation. I really don't belong in this generation but I promise to myself that I will try to make the most of it. I will join the military right after HS so I am leaving some of my friends behind. For sure some of my friends will graduate being top 10 or top 2. I just lost a friend last weekend end, he was class of 2024..

So it’s good to see that she achieved some great things even out of the prime spotlight and has had an illustrious and diverse music career. Anyway this is the anthem song for graduations everywhere! Graduated 25 years ago, Class of 1999 -- the year that this song was released. It was a special time to be leaving my youth behind and entering into an entirely new century. I grew up during the tail end of the analog era and witnessed the birth of the digital era. I wish all of you who weren't born yet could have experienced the world then, but I wish the Class of 2024 and all future graduating classes a wonderful future. To quote Back to the Future Part III, which came out in 1990, "Your future is whatever you make it, so make it a good one." (PS -- The album that the song is on was released in 1999. The song was released as a single in March of 2000. But I was still experiencing pretty heavy "post-graduation" emotions, so my memory of hearing the song for the first time is still very connected to my graduation in 1999. I also had several friends from high school who graduated in 2000, so emotionally, it was almost like graduating twice. This song will always be extremely nostalgic and meaningful for my friends and me.)

This song made me cry as a child and teen, but even more as an adult of course because it’s reality. My good friend since middle school passed away last year, and my other closest friends from school live 5 to 15 hours away from me. A couple of us had a falling out in college over finances and boys of all things. Another friend is married with three children which still blows my mind. Anyone else I was friends with just quietly faded from my life after graduation. I am very lucky that despite the distance, I still keep in touch and visit with a wonderful childhood best friend. It’s just sad things will never be as they were before like seeing each other every day at school, being Girl Scouts together, having slumber parties, staying up late reading and drawing, calls on the house phone our siblings would eavesdrop on, and the list goes on. I think the hardest thing to accept though is I am not where I thought I’d be in life (or at least I’m not as happy). I’m still trying to be hopeful for the future though.

I feel the same exact sentiment, I wouldn't say I'm unhappy with my life but when we're in our early and late teens we still have soo much hope and wonder for how our lives will turn out. I'm 31 now and see all these people I grew up with raising multiple kids, getting married, working good jobs in cool places. I'm still kind of where I was 15 years ago, just getting older and uglier 😅 I yearn for those middle school days when I hear this song or anything from this time period. Playing M-A-S-H with your friends and deciding which celebrity you were going to marry or if you would be living in a masion, apartment, shack, or a house. Still so much time to fill at that age ❤ I appreciate this post

I read a statistics that 99% of people die with regrets. Now why is that? Because we have a very finite lifespan. So you're not in the exception. Most people have regrets but they won't vocalize that externally.

Class of 2003 here. This song was played at a graduation party and listening to it now takes me back. Enjoy being young while you still are! Don't be in a rush to grow up. They say to stop once a while, smell the flowers and touch some grass. I did so at the time, and I believe I'm the better off for it. Don't take days of youth, relative freedom and low responsibility for granted.

This song is truly one of the saddest yet sweetest partition song. I’m in my late 30s and this song reflects so much about our lives. You never how your life would turned up to be. You could be the brightest or the dullest student in your high school days, however, for some reason everything flips upside down for some people. It’s sad that some of my high school classmates who were exceptionally good turn in an addict and ruined their lives. However, surprisingly some of them did really well and is living their life now, holding a good position at work and even have their own family. Life is the best in when we are young. It’s sad to know that life may or may not turn out to be the way we want it. Cherish every memory of your childhood days. The best moment is when we see and meet our old buddies who have grown old 👴🏼 and bald 👨🏻🦲 😅 Stay positive and never let any negative energy influence you. Live smart and stay young both at heart and in flesh. Cheers to life!! ✌🏻

Kids.. back then we didn't really have social media nor cellphones. We really didn't have any way to keep in touch with friends once we leave for college. Unlike today, people can share what's going on with their everyday lives. Just imagine your friends now in school and that you don't know when you will see them again. Which is why this song is so emotional because high school was truly the special years of everyones lives.

With a time machine, it sure is! But alas, as we know, the reality is that your future is whatever you can make out of the cards you are dealt, and as with all card games, being dealt from the start high down cards is supreme in handling the flop that comes after, where it’s chance, bluffing, bullshitting, and a hell of a lot of luck, all before that final river card is flipped to see how you’re gunna end up. And so many fold before the river.

Jesus Christ is the only way to heaven. Jesus Christ Loves you so much. Hell is real. You can have eternal life through The Lord Jesus Christ, please read the verses below. God Bless:). 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 King James Version 15 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: Ephesians 1:13 King James Version 13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, God Bless:)

This song has always hit deep! I'm getting teary eyed because this is reality not just with graduations but when it comes to certain events that have happened or going to happen in our lives. Whether it's moving away from home, moving to a different country for a job or great friends one moment and then kind of drift apart. This song is extra memorable to me because it was released when my high school class graduated which was 2000. ❤ To the younger generations: Cherish your youth because it goes by way too fast! Enjoy being a kid/teen because one day you're going to wish that you were a kid again with no responsibilities. Adulting is tough!

You know, from time to time I listen to this song. I get very emotional as I get caught up in those thoughts of not only middle school (grad 2000) and high school (2005), but the people that were around me. I look at these as phases in life. The guys I hung out with in grade 7, 8…having a blast and talking about our futures and where we want to be and who will be at each other’s wedding etc…some of those friends go along with you to the same high school as others go to their respective high school’s. After graduating, going to college, then university…I look back and reflect. What happened to those people..where are they in life? What struggles did they go through? What other friends did they meet, or lose?…how did they pass away? I am 34 now, and I miss those years! They were some of my most memorable moment’s. As time goes on, my friend circle starts to shrink…so many thoughts in my mind..I needed to let this out. To those that have been with me throughout my schooling , I wish nothing but the best for you and I hope you all are doing well. To the friends I have lost due to whatever reason, please forgive, as I have forgiven you… for those that have passed away …may you always rest in paradise. Tears are coming down my cheeks as I write these thoughts…life is beautiful! Stay safe!
