Check out Dr.Cohen's channel, Whats Up Doc, / @whatsupdoc .
This video is for educational purposes only and must not replace advice from your own health care provider. Always consult your own doctor before taking any medication or supplements. It is not possible to give generalised medical guidelines, for example vitamin K2 may interfere with some anticoagulant medications, so you should see your doctor for individualises advice.
Dr Michael Cohen discusses the importance of Vitamin D and zinc for the optimisation of the immune system. Vitamin K2 is also used to distribute calcium to the correct tissues. Thankyou Dr Cohen for this excellent explanation of preventing and minimising infection by enabling the amazing natural immune response.

Does nobody find it strange that NOT ONCE in nearly two years has Boris, Hancock , Whitty , Vallance , Van Tam , Harries, Javid or any other Government Minister or Scientist ever mentioned the importance and how to build , boost and maintain a healthy immune system ???? Does nobody find it strange that in the whole of 2020 there wasn't one single advert for immune boosting supplements and vitamins etc on TV ?????

not true - Boris came out in about September 2020 and talked about it and mentioned that maybe they would fortify foods ( may have specifically mentioned bread?) to get it into the poplulation. I got excited and waited for the follow up. It was never mentioned (or reported) again.

I’m a physician (radiologist) in the US. Every day I see CT scans of the chest for patients who come into Emergency with hypoxia. These are typically done to exclude the possibility of pulmonary embolism (PE). Most show no PE, but many show the extensive bilateral pneumonia pattern which is classic for CoViD-19. If I have a moment, I will check their medical record to see if there’s a Vitamin D level anywhere. For most patients there is no info, but maybe 1/4-1/3 do have a level from the past year or two. Invariably the patients with the worst disease have levels of 5-25, with most being 12 or less. I notice some have vitamin D listed on their medications, but usually only 1000 or 2000 iu per day. Not surprisingly, most of these patients are also obese. My story is only anecdotal. Working in a community hospital, I really don’t have any academic time to do a formal study, but I think there’s definitely a pattern which is important to acknowledge. Most of my colleagues want to pooh-pooh what I say, do I don’t feel like I can push too hard, unfortunately.

I live in Finland, next to Sweden. My vitamin D value is 153. It is midwinter. I used to to take 100 ug capsules once a day of vitamin D, but last moth or so I have taken two 150 ug capsules per day, that's 300 ug (12 000 IU) every day. I also take 25 mg zinc once a day. Been on a Keto diet for over a year now. I feel fine. No jabs, ever. 😁👌

We were able to collect community wide data on Vitamin D and found a large percentage of Vitamin D deficiency with our rainy overcast country. Recommendations (for future reference, around 11:00) - vitamin d (4000iu, 8000+iu if overweight) - zinc (25mg, 50mg twice a day if experiencing viral symptoms) - vitamin K2 (200mcg) - not an immediate fix needs time to metabolize, at least a few days before infection, so just always take supplements - get blood work to know your levels

Also,it's also been said it's better to take K2 a few hours after taking Vit D in order to give the Vit D time to act on your system and then your body will be ready for the K2

Very interesting discussion and great to see doctors actually discussing and using these protocols. Would be interesting to see a discussion regarding Vit D, K2, Magnesium and Calcium connection along with Cholesterol. The presence of cholesterol in the skin causes Vit D from sunlight to be converted to usable Vit D in the body. Extrapolating out that fact, lowering cholesterol as we have been recommended to do for decades plus limiting sun exposure, it stands to reason, has helped cause Vit D deficiency overall.

Yes, it is, but more interesting is the fact it's not a vitamin, but hormone, as it belongs to group of stecosteroids (this info is even available on its wikipedia page, yet almost no one knows this - it was also mentioned in this video). Why is it advertisted as a vitamin then you may ask? Because this way people will eat it up, as they think it's a vitamin, when in fact it's not. Good for corporations that are selling supplements and big pharmas that will treat those affected by it. On wiki page you can find this information: "25-hydroxyvitamin D or 25(OH)D) are measured in serum to determine a person's vitamin D status." They are measuring the inactive molecule in people's blood, not the biologically active molecule "known as 1,25-dihydroxycholecalciferol". There are people who spend their whole day in direct sunlight and still have low levels of 25(OH)D, yet they feel great healthy wise, so how is that possible? Read up on it's negative side effects before taking this "godlike sunshine vitamin", even if you decide to take it Vitamin K2 and Magnesium - which many people, including fitness gurus and doctors with youtube channels, recommend should be taken together in order to prevent calcification of your arteries (Vit K2 helps with that) and to properly active and regulate the Hormone D (Magnesium). Hormone D can suppress your immune system and cause you issues in the long run. That's why a lot of people feel great at first when taking it, because it can "modulate the innate and adaptive immune responses", but in the long run you don't really want to mess up with your immune system and make it less effective in fight against bad bacteria, viruses and infection. Anyways, in the end it is up to you to make your own due diligence and research on this topic. Personally, I don't recommend it. What I recommend instead to everybody is to get it from sunshine and/or eat foods that are rich in it, which there are plenty, even for vegans as Vitamin D can be found in mushrooms.

Congrats on your health benefits from vitamin D. We share not only the same region, but the belief in ongoing vitamin D supplement intake. I take 5k IUs per day during winter (I do alternate to 2.5k every other day randomly for psychological reasons only I suppose) and in warm months I take 2.5K per day (alternate 5k 2 or 3 days per week). I take K2 with the D with the D and also the other common spoke of vitamins. I have been around more COVID infected people, face to face since this pandemic started to have full confidence from my anecdotal experience that this virus is not automatic and my experience cannot simply be luck. Of course I am not trying to get ill, but I also do not freak out over social distancing, masks, vaccines, boosters, etc. I have lived my life stress free for the past 2 years. Stay well.

Should they also be told to go home and only come back if they can’t breathe and their lips are turning blue? And if one isn’t vaccinated, then they definitely shouldn’t receive the “early treatment” that has been widely advertised since early in the pandemic, but which the wizards of health deny patients access to. My level was below 50 (50 and above is considered adequate according to the test results) so was prescribed 800iu which, as they said in the video, isn't nearly enough to be optimal. So I started taking 4,000iu with K2(7) and am now, after a couple of years up to just over 100. As the top of the range is 220 it's difficult to overdose!

I’m an unvaccinated ICU RN working with Covid patients for nearly two years now. I started supplementing with vitamin D when I started working night shift three years ago. I also supplement with vitamins C, zinc, omega-3, among others. I caught Covid December 2020 and recovered completely within two weeks. I just tested my sars cov2 antibodies and t-cell immunity which were high and positive respectively; 11months post-infection. I work with Covid positive patients weekly and have not been sick once since 12/2020. Meanwhile, my vaccinated coworkers are constantly getting ill with coughing and runny noses. I’m not sure what’s going on with their immune systems, but they seem to have less durable immune systems post-vaccination. Many also do not take vitamin D believing the vaccine will offer complete protection.

Thanks, Dr. John for continuing talking about Vit D. I've always taken Vit d for years. But only at 5000iu per day when I remembered to even take it. When covid started I went to 10000iu per day. Got tested and was at 40m/l. Thought that wasn't good enough, so increased it to 15000iu per day. Again test at 72n/l. Since I have multiple comorbidities and wanted more for fighting covid, so I increased to 20000 per day. of Vit d. Again tested and it was 101 n/l. A short time later I caught covid, suffered from only 2 days low-grade fever, then 1.5 -2 weeks reduced ability to taste and smell. I also took Quercetin, zinc, Vit c and berberine, and also magnesium. I credit all of these to help fight off the virus.

Your story is pretty much my story, back in Feb 2020, I’m in australia and I got very sick with a respiratory infection, i was sure it was covid but after going to my dr he ordered a covid test, it was pretty much not a thing here at that time, apart from the Ruby Princess cruise ship debacle here around that time. I live an hour away from one of the first outbreaks here so I was sure I contracted it. My dr gave me antibiotics that didn’t really do much but I got a bit better but then 10 days later I woke in the night with breathing difficulties and fever, I waited and stayed in bed for a few days to try and ride it out but it got worse so I went back to the dr, barely able to breathe when I walked, the dr took one look at me, I still had a fever, he tried to call me an ambulance which I declined because I drove there so I promised I’d go straight to my hospital. I knew I should’ve gone earlier but I’ve never had positive outcomes in the past they never give you medications and only do blood tests, so I thought it was pointless but I was really struggling to even talk now. They ordered bloods and urine, put me on fluids, diagnosed me with a UTI, sent me home saying go see your dr for medications. I ended up giving myself 4000 units vitamin d, zinc, magnesium and iron because I’d barely eaten much in weeks and I’m generally anaemic being mostly vegetarian. I got better but had chest pains and shortness of breath for months, over a year actually and assumed it was what they called Long Covid. My Rheumatoid and Osteo Arthritis was playing up too, it had laid dormant for years, since childhood. I suspect this had been triggered. I pretty much researched covid daily every night before bed and then throughout the day it became an obsession because I had trouble getting through the day especially when masks were mandated. I came across Nigella Sativa (black seed oi) + honey studies and a few months ago started that on-top of my other vitamins which I kept going with as I wanted to prevent rather than treat if infected with the new strains. Pretty much, after just 1 WEEK taking the oil and honey, all my symptoms and heart racing AND Arthritic pains stopped! I’ve been pain free virtually for months I feel cured! When I ran out of the oil, the pains and loss of energy came back, it was like someone flicked the switch! I couldn’t and didn’t really believe it so when I tried to reorder, of course it was more popular, I couldn’t get my brand it was sold out, so I went with another top expensive brand thinking it would be as good but nope, it didn’t even taste the same! I persevered for a few weeks until I could get my brand back in and eventually did. I don’t know what the difference between all the different brands are but my one was dark, thick and certified organic. Again, the switch was flicked and pains gone! It really was a life saver for me. I hope this helps others like me. The other benefits I’ve experienced is the amount of energy I now have, I also don’t get food cravings so I’ve lost a little weight too! I’ve sent emails to local, state and federal politicians here in Australia to try and convince them to not just put all their eggs in one basket (the vaccine). We need a holistic approach and definitely get rid of the stupid mandates. I hope that amazing Physicians such as yourselves, take this sort of info in, look at the studies and don’t just dismiss natural medicines as voodoo witchcraft. There is a place for everything. Funny you mention being proactive not reactive, that’s actually my saying I drum into my adult girls. There are many ways to deal with situations, everyone is different and reacts to things differently. I now try natural remedies first then pharmaceuticals if I can’t shake whatever illness but I really haven’t had any illnesses since. Good luck with convincing the world of your treatments, they work hopefully you get taken seriously. If we listen to each other, we can work things out together. Thank you for great videos, I really look forward to them and get excited when the notifications come in, I get my cuppa and sit and chill and watch them intently!! ❤️❤️❤️ Jane
