Sometimes it's really overwhelming to look for new samples or patches. It's like a big never ending cycle. I personally don't think, i need a full pack of wavetables. BUT! I respect what you do very much. Especially it's cool knowing that your patreon followers get that high end though through content. I mean it's really a good valuable product. Because: I don't have a microkorg... But my god, I've tried to recreate your patches on my mininova by ear. I ve never had a super 6 but those EP patches are fire. So it's not just exclusive content, backstage uncut vids etc. It's like a well made sound design library. I respect this a lot.

Thanks mate! Yeah give it a shot 😉
@truecuckoo2 ай бұрын
I think Wavestate stole the show upon release. It’s a given hit. But in my personal opinion, I think the ModWave is much more interesting as a synthesizer. I’m finding Wavetable synthesis more of a true synthesis compared to samples. The ModWave can also use, and layer in the same sample format as on the Wavestate, as a bonus. Of course it doesn’t have sample sequencing like the Wavestate, but being able to layer in multi sample files in a wavetable synth is pretty useful.

Awesoooome!!! I love mega bapper, all the mega tables sounds crazy good 👍Those gnarly, gritty, trippy kind of tables with bite but you can still make chords with. The piano ones are pretty cool too i could see myself using a lot of these. I've made a few myself, they can take time for sure! One kind of wavetable that still eludes me is making drum loops cleanly into wavetables. I can kind of do it but gotta clean them up a bit still.
@truecuckoo2 ай бұрын
Thanks mate! I appreciate it. Drum loops is a work of delicate compromise and understanding the medium, I think. Shrinking down a sampled drum loop for instance, will likely be very dirty since the waveforms aren't played in successive order, like in a normal sample, but rather morphed and will result in unwanted artefacts all over. I think we need to think more in terms of "frequencies over time", and make sure to make low volume, or even completely silent spaces between the drum hits. A snappy kick drum is gonna be particularly difficult due to the lowest frequency possible will never be lower than the cycle length, so it's probably a good practise to run the majority of sounds at double or triple octave, with 2-3 cycles per waveform, or more, and reserve the kick drum to take up the whole cycle with just one cycle, to get the most bass out of it.

Love those Zelda renditions 💖 they sound a lot like the Famicom Disk System’s wavetable flute rendition of the tune! BTW, you mentioned using single-cycles in the Digitakt - are they also Super 6 wave-slot compatible? Or would I need to do some futzing in Audacity to get the sample-count right :)
@truecuckoo2 ай бұрын
Thanks! For The super 6 you have to go on a round trip in Audacity to create the files. What’s the resolution again? Is it double? 4096? Can’t remember. Should be as easy as speed and pitch stretch a cycle by the factor of -1 octave to get it right. Then save it like in that tutorial available somewhere here on the tubes.

I consider spicing up Pigments with this pack! Pretty nice and versatile. But i'm also interested in how you created these tables. Any chance for a "How good ol' Cucko creates his wavetable-magic" -video?
@truecuckoo2 ай бұрын
Thanks! I actually have an older Wavetable workflow video in my archive. Have a peek at that. With the help of Serum, the workflow is dramatically simplified though. You don’t have to be bit-accurate. It stretches waveforms into place. What you should spend the most time into is making the loop point and phase between waveforms precise.

Great pack! 🥰 No chance to get this under the hood of the Wavestate i guess, since you mentioned it can only be played with the Modwave?
@truecuckoo2 ай бұрын
Thanks! The ModWave patches are not compatible with the Wavestate, sorry. And the wavetables themselves wouldn’t spring to life on the Wavestate the way they can on the ModWave, but they are technically just wav-files, so they can be played on the Wavestate. Although in a much more stale manner.

Will these work on hydrasynth?
@truecuckoo2 ай бұрын
The Hydrasynth doesn't allow users to upload custom waveforms. It has a Wavelist/ Wavescan oscillator mode, where you can create a list by picking out the factory waveforms you like, and hence create your own in-synth "user wavetable". But it doesn't support externally created wavetables to be uploaded.
@solamnique2 ай бұрын
Can you fit that in a track of the Tempera Granular ?
@truecuckoo2 ай бұрын
Hey that's interesting. Putting wavetables into a granular synth would be a great experiment. Wavetables are tiny, and designed with just one tiny cycle in mind. Granular synths are typically playing much bigger chunks/ grains of samples. But most granular can go all the way down to wavetable level, or even lower, so it should in theory be interesting.

Hi Cuckoo! ᓚᘏᗢ Do you know if the pack would be compatible with the wavetable engine of the Microfreak? Thanks!
@truecuckoo2 ай бұрын
Good question! The resolution (2048) is the same, but many of the wavetables in the pack contain more than 32 waveforms, which is the MicroFreak's limit per wavetable. I'm not sure what will happen with the bigger files. Maybe it will just cap it at 32 but work fine? I don't have it here so I can't check. But all of the wavefiles are in the pack, which you can assemble your own wavetables with, keeping the limitations of the Microfreak in mind.
@Le-chat-qui-joue2 ай бұрын
@@truecuckoo I understand, thanks for your answer. (Also using your Digitone patches already, they're nice!)
