I always find it funny when people complain about the compatibility of Apple products with other brands when Apple activity makes it difficult to do just that.

I was actually thinking that same thing. I have Apple TV, I love Apple TV, but I have an Android phone and i can't get an app for Apple TV on my Android phone without some serious digital ninja stuff. I also have it on my Android TV and that thing gets signed out probably once a viewing session As someone who has worked in it for a long time, I can also tell you that Microsoft stuff works better now than it used to on Apple products, but it used to be the bane of my existence. Microsoft accounts would just randomly get signed out of Apple devices and refuse to log back in, or refuse to even tell people that they were logged out. Don't even get me started on two-factor authentication when that came out. Apple does not play nicely with others. Do they make cool stuff, but they're cool stuff only likes to play with. It's cool stuff LOL

Exactly, if you use the Apple ecosystem, one of the trade-offs is that 3rd party devices will be more difficult to use. Buy Apple or don't buy Apple, but don't turn around and complain that other companies are less able to cater to YOUR choices. Own your choices.

​@bodar I completely agree. This is the main reason I hate Apple and Playstation. If you choose to use these products great but they actively try and force you to use their ecosystem exclusively which I absolutely hate personally. If you make that choice don't get mad that nothing else will work within your chosen closed ecosystem.

Why are you reviewing their older product? They took feedback and now have a pro version and a light version. The things you complain about have been corrected in the pro version. It’s fantastic! And with my Meta Quest three… I had to buy a new head strap 100 bucks… I had to buy a new battery pack… I had to buy a new soft face cover so there are a lot of expenses with that as well. And I hate having to put it on. I love the pro glasses.

I thought your review was very useful. This specific product is still available for sale in some places, and I am considering buying it (even though there are newer products like other slightly aggressive commenters have stated). There are too many reviews out there that seem paid. You did a fine job breaking down the pros and cons of your experience.

This was just an awful review, it seems as if you were unaware of the actual product you’re reviewing and how it works. And spent more time focusing on accessories that you felt like you needed to own to use it. It’s XR product Not a VR headset. Microsoft and Sony make their own dedicated software for game streaming. Also be aware that android os could be plagued with malware so never put sensitive information in it unless you truly trust the product

A lot of the recent ads out there have been for the new Pro model, not this one. Which is 120hz The battery pack hub tricks your Switch into thinking its docked. When a Switch is docked you get better performance but the joycons do stop working. Really liked the footage you captured of then lens and laser from your phone. Prob the best Ive seen of. Also appreciated the lock in diagram you created to describe your experience. Good review though, keep it up.

That's a good point, I've been seeing more and more ads for the Viture Pro recently too, thinking about maybe trying to pick one up and do a comparison video! And yeah that totally makes sense about the Switch thinking it's docked, thanks for explaining that! I'm glad you liked the footage of the lens and laser, I thought that footage was pretty cool, the laser moving from me tilting my phone around was one of the coolest parts of this device for sure, so I wanted to be sure to include that. I just bought these during the Amazon Prime day sale and have sent them back. I am shortsighted and these were my first pair of XR glasses. I chose these because of the built in dials to adjust for short sightedness. The problem is, the virtual screens would be sharp but all surrounding "see through" areas would be blurred due to my short sightedness. At no fault of the device, it doesn't work for me as I am unable to see my physical keyboard clearly nor my laptop screen (for extended virtual screen workspace). Having said that, Skywalker app for MacOS is pretty cool, allowing 3 side by side screens in different layouts.

This is actually a re-upload of a previous video I released several months ago but with some audio adjustments to make it easier to hear me speak, so it says it's new but it's actually 6 months old. That being said, great point though I should definitely look at ordering and reviewing the Pro myself, seems like it should be hopefully a pretty good upgrade! i see this as a portable display replacement and not much else. i honestly don't really need them to display anything other than a normal monitor would display if it was plugged into whatever device i am plugging this into. VR is different beast. so is "just buy this normal device that can play movies". the fov is about what your average person would want if they were looking at a 1080p screen. except u don't have to hold a phone or look down to look at a tablet/laptop.

Picked up a blue One series at Amazon with the Viture HDMI/Lighting adapter for $366 with all of the discounts. Not bad. Then went to eBay and picked up a used Apple Lightning to HDMI adapter for $15. That made the price point reasonable.

Nice that's awesome, that sounds like a great deal! I think even though my experience with these glasses wasn't totally perfect, if I could get everything you did for $366 it would definitely be a lot easier to recommend, I just think it's not worth over $400/$450 in it's current state.

The switch joycons not working is because it thinks it's in a dock and has set them to charge mode only.

Great job reviewing a product that’s a year old. It’s too bad you didn’t do any research and find out that the pros are out. I own both and disagree with you on a lot of your complaints about this product. I guess you don’t understand this is a first GEN early adopter product. It would only be fair if you would review the brand new product and not a product that is one and a half years old. The pros have a 120 Hz refresh rate. They have the brand new Sony panels. And they have eliminated the blurriness at the edges. You should really scrap this review and review a product that’s relevant.

I’m fine with him reviewing the One series as opposed to the Pro. The One is still being sold so it’s still relevant (especially considering the Lite is essentially the same as the One minus a few futures).

Oh dang sorry to hear that! Did they end up replacing it for you? The Viture Pro reviews I've seen seem to concur it's a huge improvement to the first gen one, but I still prefer the RayNeo Air 2's right now because of the screen size and cable type.

I bought these on sale as a complementary thing to my Quest. To watch content or play games from time to time on something less bulky. My biggest complaint is the Viture iphone adapter is not adjustable. I bought a third party Apple adapter that does not fit. For instance the outside width on the Viture adapter connectors is 1.125". The Chinese Apple adapter is 1.225". So I'm going to have to mod it somehow without damaging it or buy the official Apple part. Though it works without the charge plug in it for right now.

There are plenty of mini "usb c female to mini hdmi" mini adapters out there. Really cheap and mostly circumvents the problem with peripherals.

The glasses do not have a battery they are powered by the cable they do not charge

Yeah they were! And I didn't know that but I'm not totally surprised, that's a bummer. I also completed my collection of all 13 of the Megaman NT Warrior manga books sometime last year, and even was able to get Volume 1 of the NT Warrior tv show on disk too, so really happy about that! Honestly I cant say I agree with you on everything. But some complaints are valid. The neckband is good if all you want is to stream videos and such. It also does somewhat help the not being able to see someone since you can shrink the screen to somewhat see them through the lens. My biggest complaints are how loud the fan can be on the neckband. And the random black screens that appear but it still being active. but I believe that problem is due to something in the hinge personally because if you figet with it the screen will come back. At least they do for me but it could be a heat thing too cause I notice it only does that when they get pretty warm. But I have heard of a sensor that turns the screen off if it thinks your not wearing them being the fault but idk for sure. If they could fix that I would be happy.

I'll have to check it out! This is actually just a delayed re-release of a previous video that fixed a bunch of audio issues I had with it which is why it seems out of date. That being said, they are still selling the regular Viture XR glasses as the cheaper option vs the Viture Pro's so I think this review is still relevant, but I would love to test out the Viture Pros and see what all they improved from the first release!

Buyer beware? At this price range?? God love you but why do all Americans complain about the price of stuff they get a hell of a lot cheaper than every one else in the world? Why aren't you using a dedicated VR for gaming with actual VR games? These are more towards a wearable smart TV that you can game with..And Nintendo have always been s*itty when trying to attach 3rd party equipment.. Nintendo will release their own version, same as Sony.. And you don't seem to find the over inflated price of iPhone a problem do you?..

That's a very good point, I'd argue that the overall experience and what you can do with the other ones is still much better (even though different) but you're right it's not a straight 1:1 comparison the way I explained it.
