The piccolo reminds me of spring and the blooming of flowers and animal births. The adventure the critters go through in the forest and woods. The sound of the piccolo is like a soap opera in nature of animals to my ears.

I've played flute for the best part of 55 years at amateur level. It was always implied that if you got a piccolo it went with the flute as a doubling instrument. I could never afford the piccolo option, as I was a pianist, as first study. I first hear the piccolo being played in a series of Italian baroque pieces and realised that it was more than a "dressing" instrument. Here it is being shown to its limits, and there are a couple of realisations I became aware of: A) make a mistake and EVERYBODY hears it and B) Even when flight cased up, it will still fit in your brief case. Fab performance. And it has certainly cleared the wax from my ears.

so true, she plays very good but she is no robot and if you heard with a bit of attention you can listen to all the small mistakes she makes. I play piccolo myself in a small band and because I know my errors are VERY noticeable I just dont play if I am not sure about one part

SAME i now play piccalo but remember all keys are the same depending on the piccalo you are having. And some notes are also different. And takes more time to get the sound right.

I tried a piccolo a few years after playing the flute. I could get individual notes out but I struggled to string notes together - I was never great at the higher registers even on the flute

I bought a damaged piccolo flute because it was cheap and I didn't know about the damage until it came to me, it's been hell, it cost me $50 and it cost me $400 to fix it with the Luthier :(, my dream one day is to play piccolo and transverse flute that way, how beautiful :'))
