Great to see an unsponsored video. I received mine yesterday, I got the Margot 2 and Samantha loafers. I checked and double checked their sizing chart and with every other shoe brand I’m a 39 standard width and their chart also suggested that size but I’m so disappointed in them, they feel so tight and uncomfortable and really rub the backs of my heels. All the sponsored influencers say they’re just like wearing slippers but I don’t think I’ve ever experienced such painful shoes! Been in touch with them so let’s see what they say but right now I’m just really disappointed, especially since the delivery is slow and they’re so expensive! Vivaia has specific styles that are wide, but I don't think they market that very well. It's a little confusing. I also found that (though I have a bunion on one foot) I could wear other styles (aside from the one they recommend) that I find more attractive. They said order a size up - I did and they were too big. Returned. I usually wear a 9 (USA) and that is what Vivaia size works best for me. Those are better for people with narrower feet. I have found shoes like that that work, but more often they will be too tight across. I’ve had three pairs have wide feet and love the fact they do pointed flats. While very comfortable because of the insoles and flexibility you can’t get away from the fact they are synthetic and so really draw your feet in warmer weather. As long as you are aware it’s ok but not the silver bullet.

So many influencers have praised how comfortable these shoes are and how they can walk around all day in them. I have very wide feet, so ordered the margot wide, and sized up a half size. If i were to order them again i would size up a full size, because they were not quite wide enough. They are fine for short outings, however i did not find them comfortable on days when i would be walking around for more than an hour. I probably would buy them again because of the range of colours, which are not readily available in traditional wide width shoes (not where i live anyway). I still love my new balance shoes more though.

Love my Vivaias. I have problem feet and thought I could only wear trainers and boots, with orthotics. I have the Melissa and Regina Pro (same style, one is waterproof). They have excellent arch support, lots of cushioning and a wide, stable heel. At last an elegant shoe that goes with everything. As I am 72 and arthritic I wouldn't wear them walking around town all day, but perfect for going out to dinner or theatre, and I have in fact danced in them! Btw, I am in the UK, where shipping and returns are free. I originally bought two pairs for size and there was no problem returning the one that didn't fit. I ordered the size larger as I thought I would need to fit my orthotics in, but in fact I don't need them as the arch support and cushioning are so good. I have a narrow-ish foot but wide forefoot so it was important the box (forefoot) was wide enough to tolerate my tailor's bunion! Guys, once you start having problems with your feet, you will just have to try a lot of shoes, no one company or style will suit everyone.

I wore them for the first time that day. I wore them for over 12 hours without breaking them in. I had no problems, no blisters, no pain. I was able to wear my little no show stockings/socks. I do have a wide foot with bunions , which is why i picked this model. Ive since bought the Bibi, the Melia, and the sandals Maisa. The only ones that have given me issues are the Melia. If I'm at all retaining ware, I cant wear them;they actually made my foot bleed at the top near my bunion. It was the second time i wore them, the first time they were fine. I will tell you they do stretch, the more you wear them. I have returned a pair. It was the sandals. I decided to keep the smaller size. Customer service was freat. I did choose to return for store credit since they give you a credit for 110% of the original cost. They may not have refunded the difference since the Margots don't qualify for free shipping. If this happens again, you can take such a shoe to a cobbler and get then to put it in a last and stretch the shoe to be wider. The reason it's tighter is because of all the stitching and the braids holding it in. definitely try stretching them. I've had shoes before that I almost gave up on, some Eccos and I removed the insoles and voilà. I've got narrower feet but those were very tight. Brands vary so much on the styles. Try wearing shoes at home in the evening when your foot is more swelled, and it will gradually give. Wearing a new pair of shoes for a full day is murder on the feet. (If you think doing paid returns is annoying try posting a return to Europe from Australia!)
@BridgeOfLifeStudio Жыл бұрын
I am not willing to compromise on shoe comfort, so if it's painful to walk in, I am not willing to put in any effort to see if I can stretch a shoe. I am from Europe and Vivaia is an Canadian brand, so I can immagine 😅

A reputable company should ALWAYS honour and simplify their returns process . I have had excellent customer service when purchasing from EUR /UK & any returns have been speedily and satisfactorily resolved when posting from Aust . Much better than some dodgy local Aus owned companies ( all those falling under the S Lew umbrella, to be specific ) Only companies with a dubious business model make this a headache ( called risk management ….make it so hard that customers give up and keep product rather than navigate the obstacles and hurdles !!! My non negotiable motto w shoes is : ‘ if you cannot wear them out of the shop, or out of the box , don’t persist or waste any further money trying to make them comfortable ‘ . Vivaia’s lack of natural fibres , materials has always been a red flag regarding comfort and foot health & why I can’t bring myself to buy . This has convinced me .

Do these have a footbed? Are they sweaty being made of plastic? I wanna buy some but I am worried they would be too flat and it would hurt my back. And that I would sweat in them too much. I tried buying copycat ones on Amazon and to fit, I had to take the comfy foot bed out. A very similar pair with no branding from TK Max were as good as Vivaia to be honest. The long and the short seems to be they have introduced a style of shoe much copied and now the market is flooded; undoubtedly even coming out of the same factory. I’ve never had blisters and am prone, so yes I’m a fan of the design for wider feet.

Just get some Birkenstocks, please. For hard surfaces and standing on your feet all day, a solid thick base with good support is what you need. And they have plenty of space for a wide foot. I had a good experience with their customer service. Imo, Vivaia makes shoes for style-conscious people with big shoe collections, who have a lot of shoes and actually wear all of them, depending on their outfit (as opposed to hoarders who hoard shoes and things they never wear). If you are the kind of minimalist person who only really wears 2-3 pairs or shoes per year, I wouldn’t suggest Vivaia. I would instead suggest: Doc Martens, Birkenstocks, and Nike.

I purchased a pretty pair of flats which for the most part fit me well and are the correct size, however due to the recycled material, the back of the shoe is quite hard and cut into my heels badly despite having the anti blister pads. They caused bleeding blisters after walking a short distance. I couldn’t exactly return them with my blood in the heels.Sadly I won’t be a repeat customer.

I included these video's so you have a place to start. Though I immagine with bunions you mostly need the toespace and some give in the material right?

For me the stability is not much of a problem since I mostly wear barefoot shoes. But they don't offer much support, just a little cushioning in the styles I tried. But I hope you find something you love 😊

I also ordered the shoes "Margot" in the wide version. They could be more flexible than yours with the knod.

Yes, like I said later in the review, the Margot is a LOT more flexible then the knot loafer.

They look good in the adverts but for me they were the weirdest fit. I tried the boots first which were so tight around the ankle they could have fit a flamingo's leg. Having nearly broken my ankle getting them on they were so large and long in the foot that they flapped around like a clown's shoe. I then tried the casual Margot shoe and the V shape at the front nearly cut my foot in half. The red mark on my foot was so deep and hurt like hell. So it was a definite NO from me.

A lot of companies are pinching pennies with production costs. You have the size up with shoes, clothing, and etc..
@BridgeOfLifeStudio5 ай бұрын
That might be true for some companies but there sre actually also quite a few companies where I have to size down. I actually think the saving usually comes in in the quality of products.
@IAmSherry123 ай бұрын
I've had the same experience. They run way too narrow. I don't even have a traditionally wide foot, ' although I'm more comfortable in a wider shoe most times. But when I went to order a wide size they were all sold out! Additionally I called BS on their being sustainable brand. 6 little water bottles don't add up to an entire shoe. Plus there's rubber in the sole and the cushioned insole. It's just a marking ploy. They are vegan and that's a plus for people looking for vegan shoes but these are not comfortable shoes and they run way too narrow for the average foot.

HONEST REVIEW: Customer support only works for influencers. The shoes wear off. The finger foot that stands a bit out because the fabric is so maleable end up giving in the fabric. Also for the pointed ones, the point also gets like a crease that does not go away. Also, I know people that don't find them comfortable and others that wanting to contact the company to change size or other issue never got a response. They also false adviertise sales that then are different once you access the website. OVERALL: these shoes are not woth the money and the company sucks (not to mention gree wash)

Make sure you follow their size guide. If you do, you'll be fine. I got the Mary Jane, and it's super comfortable, breathable fabric, you can wash them in the sink if you need, they are really easy to style. I have bought the navy, red, and green Mary Jane, and got lots of use. I sound say, I dont really care about sustainability. I mean we have human overpopulation in s America and Africa that makes sustainability very difficult. So Im not going to worry about it until they fix that.
@BridgeOfLifeStudio10 ай бұрын
I am happy you like your Vivaia's 😊 I did follow their size guide. The first pair did not fit, the other pair did. But like I said in the review, I do have wide feet. I still think sustainability is important, especially with over population. While a single action may not change the world, every little bit will help. If everyone would choose to do a little bit, that can already have a big impact.
