You have hit on all of the key issues with the HTC - other than the SDK issues. Just because it’s the same chip - it does run custom apps about 25-30% slower than the Quest Pro - as the software team at Meta is a few years ahead on optimization vs. where the HTC team is at.

CNET is OBVIOUSLY biased against PSVR 2. In fact, PSVR 2 is more than 100 g lighter than Vive XR. With the underpadding of this headset, I am pretty sure it is very uncomfortable to wear for over an hour. It is still using that underpowered Snapdragon XR 2. So, it can't run AAA VR game and will have ugly PS2 graphics just like Quest 2. What is stupider is, there is NO AR apps. That's exactly the reason why Quest pro sucks and Vive XR isn't any better!

As someone with an unusual prescription I would like to see an adapter that works with my glasses or has a wider range of adjustment in that department. Additionally I actually like the rings on the controllers. I sometimes hook the ring over my thumb giving my hands the ability to grasp an additional object like a snack, drink, phone, etc. and can then just pop back to what I was doing quickly without having to flip them back up from strap dangling position. I'm sure there are straps that would essentially let me do the same thing but it feels like if I had to take them off it would take longer to put back on. Maybe I'm wrong here, never tried.

Most personal reviews of the XR Elite have been lackluster or not so good compared to the QPro. Also, I do some and teach VR and game development and I have seen nothing about the reliability of the XR Elite for that purpose. Anyone? The Quest 2 and Pro just work.
