I just love your videos! So many amazing ideas. Could you fill in the bird and horizon/trees with black alcohol ink using a small brush carefully? I am going into my studio to try this! I even like the dark blue background. Very dramatic! Also, I now know why I struggle with the flowers. I a. Using the wrong side of the paper. 😬

You can definitely use black ink for this. Glad you figured out what you were doing wrong! Lol

WOW! This is the first video I've watched that isn't flowers and I'm amazed....you got SKILLZZZzzz girl! I mean, I knew you had skills but even more since I've seen some of your other paintings. I bet that feels wonderful, to paint., and have it turn out. LOL Good thing I'm tenacious though, I have a question: I have been using old 2x3 or 4x5 or something HP photo paper (for the printer.) ; back ONLY. I've only been using it only for practice for the petals because it has HP watermark on it, but that's not my issue with them. My petals turn out HORRIBLY. It's like it drags or something and the ink goes every which way plus the best part, the COLOR......it's sooooo muted and dull. Yuk. Plus, if (when) I make mistakes, the ink sinks into the paper and you can't remove it. The petals work the best for me on the tile, but I don't want to only be able to lug around tiles all the time. Obviously, I want to try what paper you are using but I just haven't ordered it yet. Yupo paper is too expensive for practice. Have you noticed that different photo paper performs in different ways like this? P.S Your nails always look so purdy! Love that baby blue!

Thank you for the kinds words. My followers like the flowers best so I give then what they want, but there is much more you can do with ai and I love trying and learning new things. Your issue is the photo paper your using. They are not all the same. Once you order the right one, you will see a big difference with how the inks flow and you'll be much happier with your work.

I just ordered the Kirkland paper. Do you normally cut it in half or quarters? The Amazon paper…. Is that good on the matte side too or is that just good for glossy? Thank you for the replies. I’m super grateful that you answer.

@@zzzz3190 glad you finally pulled the trigger...lol. it's always the matte side if you want the ink to flow nicely. As far as cutting the sheets...it depends on what I'm doing.

Fabulous idea. I can't wait to try it. Thank you for sharing. I particularly liked how when it didn't go quite the way you wanted it to blend, that you persevered and showed us how to correct that. As they say you learn more from your mistakes than your successes. What you ended up with was brilliant.

Thank you - I really enjoyed this process, looks amazing & I love the glossiness. I saw the video yesterday and practiced today, it definitely is a challenge to get the colours to blend, think I have done 7 so far including 2 larger ones. You do really have to work fast. I found I got less marks putting the ink on my brush as you did. I do have a question though - after it is finished with the silhouette, do you spray with the Kamar Varnish & UV Sprays? As you would other Alcohol Ink painting, thank you❤️

I'm so glad you gave it a try. I would love to see how you did! Any time you use ai, regardless of the surface, you should always seal with kamar varnish and uv protection.

@@VivoVintageDesigns - Hi Jeannette - took me a few tries, but joined the Facebook group, I think (I am not techie) Posted a couple of this pics of me trying your technique there. What I noticed is my black Posca marker, used to fill in birds - is flaking off. Did this happen to you? Wondered if something was wrong with the 2 Posca markers I used! Thought about trying a black Copic marker instead, what do you think? Used a Copic marker on the sun I put in one one of the pics (it had a blob of ink there & I was attempting to hide that). Thanks for your technique can see using this for all kinds of silhouettes ❣️
