I think the point was to have a kickin' beat but the lyrics are super deep. Maybe a reflection of Angel himself-how he always glosses over his own past like "nah it's all good shut up". I'm pretty sure this was a backstory to Angel Dust's past as a sex worker before coming to the hotel. But for Cherri not entirely sure her story. I'd love more music videos on their backstories, but God hope the team don't make Alastor into some sort of sympathetic character cause the dude was a SERIAL KILLER CANNIBAL come on now lol. But he's the villain so of course we're gonna dig him lol. Villains are dope.

Oh I think Alastor is well aware of his actions. He scoffed at the idea of redemption and seems to have accepted where it all led him. As for Angel Dust well the comic gives some more insight. He's learned to put up a defense to cope. Though I think he's the one who has a genuine chance at redemption seeing as he's out of that whole situation.

When I watched the video the first time, I never expected Angel to have a vulnerable side. It made me actually have empathy for how addiction can only shield trauma and depression. It also made me "addicted" to the song and for more Hazbin Hotel.

You know it's wrong, you know it's destroying you, but the dose of poison rushing into your veins being pleasure to reside by the pain. That lyric is pure genius. One of the things is Cherri Bomb, who is like Angel's only friend, was going and targeting Valentino's clubs and billboards. Valentino happens to be an Overlord of hell on par with Alistor and runs the pornography industry of hell. Angel is his top earner and he abuses Angel, so Cherri basically went to war against him for her friend. Also the pig's name is Fat Nuggets.

Just a quick recap for anyone who might need one on Angel's part. I'm pretty sure he kinda got into hell and he wasn't exactly a good person by any means but he got into this lifestyle and obviously it's hard to get out. The flashes you see at the beginning when he's dancing are of Cherri comforting him at night when he's come down from what ever drugs that man gives him while he's preforming. He's obviously addicted to the high, and it's hard to break addictions, but he doesn't like where he is. It's obvious that he's most likely being abused (both sexually and maybe also physically such as hitting or verbally when he doesn't do as good as he usually would.) He's dependent on the high to keep himself happy, because he doesnt like the life he has (I mean he's in hell so that's to be expected). He's hoping Charlie will be able to help him break the cycle and maybe he's also hoping to find better people to be around that won't treat him so horribly (even if he doesn't show it. He's probably hesitant to be kind or show that he cares because his need to be loved or wanted has probably been used against him in the last.)

so if you remember in the pilot, he says he owes her a solid for helping him one time, and this music video showed her purposefully destroying ONLY Valentino owned stuff(valentino being the Overlord in hell in charge of the Porn Industry, his main power being Charm, which fans theorize is the drugs he gives to all the people who work for him and allows him to manipulate them, cause at the beginning of the song, Angel is uncomfortable and restrained a bit, but the moment Val's smoke hits his body[in the form of a hand]all his restraint goes away, and in the car, without the smoke, Angel actively tries to escape Valentino), which likely helped Angel fully integrate into the Hotel, as in the backstory comic, Angel is forced to 'work the streets' after missing a gig at the studio Valentino owns, which is when Charlie and Vaggie roll up and invite him to the hotel, which he agrees and they pay him a lot as incentive to actually try their program. He likely wouldn't be able to escape Valentino's grasp unless someone caused trouble that would've distracted Valentino(aka, Cherri Bomb blowing shit up, as she does~)

Recap: the beginning shows valintino. valintino is a thug, and you can probably tell. Valintino hurt Angel, but Angel was too addicted to Valintino. Cherri was destroying the things that hurt him. Including, drugs, the “club 666”, and all things that she has gotten rid of. Cherri has some problems too, that man that you saw twice is believed to be her X boyfriend that abused there relationship. At the end of the full video you see Angel having some traumatic flashbacks of Valintino. Angel Dust (real name Anthony) was part of an Italian mafia family based in New York City back in the 1930s. He died of a PCP overdose and ended up in hell, later working for Valentino, a slimy pimp who uses Angel as a cash cow. Cheri Bomb meanwhile has a far less known backstory other than she died in the 1980s and is best friends with Angel, being his main support and comfort after sessions of Valentino's abuse.
