The best thing about it , is the fact that in the official sims 2 book everything that happens for the main households like goth and pleasant etc. these events are written down. For example no matter what answer you’d have chosen for the pleasants Mary Sue would have gotten home earlier. Either by being degraded or fired 😂 i just love this. You’re thrown into the whole events the moment you play the households for the first time and sims 3 /4 could never live up to this

In order to make the game more appealing to a wider audience, the quality of the meshes and textures were reduced to make it playable on low-end computers, and the charm and quirks of the previous versions has been largely removed. And not only that, but... - Sims 2 and 3 allow players to create our own worlds. - Worlds in The Sims 2 and 3 let us place more lots, and let us move the lots freely on the map. - The Sims 2 and 3 have driveable cars. - The Sims 3 allows you to customize swatches and give your Sims any haircolor imaginable without having to learn how to do recolors in S4S. - Build mode in Sims 3 allows you to make actual ponds (not pools disguised as ponds), and included terrain tools from the get-go. - Sims can swim in any ponds and oceans in The Sims 3. In Sims 4, swimming in the ocean is limited to Sulani. - Sims 2 and 3 gave your Sims extra wishes/whims and traits upon graduating from university, and gave them an additional lifestage to boot. - Sims 3 Pets gave you more animals to play with and didn't force you to buy a game pack to get access to all of them. - Sims 2 and 3 had some hybrid occult combinations. Sims 4 has...vampire spellcasters? Maybe? - Sims 3 allows Sims five traits, and more if they graduate college. The traits have more of a noticeable impact on the Sims' personalities than they do in Sims 4. - In Sims 2 and 3, babies actually had personality traits, and could actually be taken out of their cribs, carried around and placed on the floor. Toddlers could be pushed to the park in strollers. - In Sims 2 at least, diapers and bottles remained on the floor where they were placed, just like they would in real life. I could go on.

The game is set up to cause drama in so many ways, and I LOVE it. Cassandra and Don are supposed to marry, but she will get left at the alter. Daniel is cheating on his wife with the maid, and the game is set up to have her catch them in bed together. Brandi Broke is poor and pregnant with her dead husband’s baby at the game’s start. In Veronaville, if Romeo invites Juliet over and kisses her, her brother Tybalt is scripted to come over and start fights with them. It’s so creative and fun

I need more of this! The sims 2 is my fave. The sims 4 is a good game but it’s missing that spontaneous aspect. The quarks of the early sims is what made me fall in love now it’s pretty much a life simulator. If they just add more of the quarks and relationship depth and like make things actually have an impact on the sims the sims 4 would be amazing. I don’t understand why take so much away from what the first games had?

That last thing that shocked your sim when she used it was an aspiration reward that is supposed to refresh all her needs... but it can backfire and lower them instead. More chance of success if her aspiration level is high when using it. OMG the memories!! I never missed TS2 while playing TS3, but I sure do now. I just subscribed btw 👍
