The jabulani is interesting because it doesnt make much sense that a perfect ball is erratic, but physics wise it's pretty sensible. Basically, when air (which is considered a fluid) passes over a ball, it sticks to the grooves so that it can pass relatively linearly over the ball. BUT, when the surface is too smooth, the airflow unsticks from the ball and creates "chaotic flow" (basically just turbulence) When the air unsticks the ball swerves, its quite literally a knuckleball effect. Its the same reason that when a knuckleball is thrown or kicked you cant predict where the ball will shift too. Interesting stuff fr

27:16 Tbf to Graham Poll, one of the reasons why he got mixed up was because the game was between australia and croatia and the culprit simunic, despite representing croatia, was actually born and raised in australia, so poll heard his accent and then mistakenly wrote down the australian number 3 in his book and not croatia's number 3. Plus, he had already sent off 2 players during the game so he probably wasn't expecting another to give another. He did eventually give him a red after the third yellow card tho 😅😅

5:44 to add on to this, Miroslav Klose scored this game and broke Ronaldo’s record for top goal scorer in WC history, while Ronaldo was actually at the game doing commentary for Brazil. So not only did Klose get revenge on Brazil from the 2002 final, he contributed in one of Brazil’s worst loss in history at their own home, then went on to win it, while simultaneously breaking the record of the man that beat him in 02, ALL while that same man was watching from afar retired as you are still playing at the WC………………….Yea, Ronaldo definitely cried in his car after the match

Dubbed as "the Cachirules", the Mexico national football team was banned from 1990 World Cup. They failed to reach the knockout stages in both 2010 and 2014, before failing to even qualify for the 2018 and 2022. I remember watching that South Korea - Italy match. The scorer of the Golden Goal played for Perugia in Serie A at the time and they later sacked him for knocking Italy out of the World Cup!. Some entries need way more research. Idk if this will come up on the second video but the Maracanazo one of the best known upsets in football, when Uruguay beat Brazil 2-1 at the Maracana in the 1950 de facto final. Roger Milla is the oldest goal scorer at a world cup, which he achieved in 94 as a 42 year old, he's not just a likeable guy. Like come on dude Italy 34 and Argentina 78 were very corrupted world cups, carried out in right wing military governments. It's a good video overall, but if you don't properly research an entry, just don't include it. Better than leaving it so incomplete

I think maybe some things to add for the next part of the iceberg would be the World Cup 2030 host selection and the insanity that was the announcement from FIFA, the 2002 World Cup Torsten Frings handball in the Germany vs USA quarterfinals, Egypt missing the 1930 World Cup because a storm, Italy vs Chile at the 1962 World Cup. One the host selection didn’t have much of a reaction from the English speaking side of the football community from KZbinrs except on twitter and the Latin American side of the internet were furious at FIFA for doing this and robbing them of hosting the 100th anniversary of the World Cup in the same place where it began. Two, the handball by Torsten Frings is not really known about by casual fans of the United States or discussed at all by people besides the US football community but is well known by active supporters and fans of the USMNT because it came at a time where the USA was down by only 1 goal and it created a lot of what if questions of if the referee gave the red card and penalty and the USA was able to convert the penalty, which could have meant the USA being at the final instead of Germany had the USA been able to comeback and win. Three, the Egypt missing the first world cup is rather interesting as they would have been the only African team at the first World Cup and would have been the first to participate in it and yet they were unable to leave in time because of that storm. The brawl that took place between Chile and Italy I believe you did do in a previous iceberg but I find it interesting the brawl that was that game.
