I wish people, specifically males from the West...specifically in America, would and could realize that closeness, affection, love between males doesn't always have to do with a person's sexuality....being close to, touching, hugging, and showing general affection for another male doesn't automatically equal "gay." I look forward to the day when people will stop throwing that word around in such a negative way. I know it's hard as young African American men, to unlearn things that you've grown up learning, but you have know that not everyone person of the male gender around the world is the same. And for the record, THINGS don't have a sexuality....clothes, colors, hair, makeup, shoes and other inanimate objects, aren't gay or straight....they're just things.

i also want people to know that EVEN if it has to do with one's sexuality there's nothing wrong with that. y'all be like "it's a korean culture thing!!! they're not gay i swear!!" as if gay ppl don't exist in korea?? do you know how homophobic asia is? smh but yeah you're right. masculinity and the straight culture is sooo fragile. men can't even look at each other without thinking they got aids or smth. pathetic lmao

Thank you for saying what I was thinking. This is REALLY hard for black men and I usually hesitate to watch them react to stuff like K-pop because masculine behavior in Asian countries is different than within typically black culture.

Being gay is not an insult. What's insulting is calling someone gay (joking or no) because they don't comply to a certain hyper (toxic) masculine image or mannerism. That's not only disrespectful to Jimin and the lgbt community, but you also stereotype gay people into a specific behaving model. We do not know what sexual orientation of the BTS members is nor do ever they have to clarify that to us, but hypothetically even if any of them is gay, it's not supposed to be funny, sexual orientation is not something for you to laugh at. Being cool with gay people is just called being a decent human being, there's nothing to be proud of let alone using that as a justification for throwing the word "gay" around as a joke.

I'm sick of the guy at the back, sorry but he's ruining everything. Making harmless jokes is fine and all, but if he's so uncomfortable with these boys being touchy with each other, then I'm sorry he should stop reacting to BTS even if fans request them. The culture is different, and nobody is asking you to accept it. However, you can at least keep your childish thoughts to yourself. So here's an advice if you want to be successful as reactors: It's okay to be culture-shocked, but keep the degrading remarks to yourself. Though personally, your images are already ruined for me so I can no longer watch you without feeling bad, so bye.

And for your information, real men aren't afraid of things outside of their comfort zone. Even straight guys can appreciate another guy's charm, or even give them hugs and such without it being weird or homosexual. So if you are homophobic, just admit it. I, and the majority of girls, will choose an open-minded guy over a guy who's masculinity is so fragile that he can't look at other guys being close without assuming they're gay, and feels the need to make jokes in order to save their own masculinity.

It's okay MIA. I hope that they read these comments and try to educate themselves about tolerance and other cultures. It's just cultural differences and the fact that these viewers are young men. They probably aren't confident in their own masculinity enough to watch this without feeling so uncomfortable that they have to make jokes and comments. They're still children. Try not to get so upset.

Dude I subscribed because I thought all of you made pretty good reactions and were genuine and understanding. But after watching this, I know this sounds cringy as hell, but you were straight up making fun of him. If you're going to react to them, be respectful. I have mad respect for bts because of their hardships they went through to get where they are and their humbleness. And I fucking hate it when people go up and react to them an disrespect them with ignorant jokes. I know this is supposed to be funny, but still it triggered me. If you're going to make fun of bts, then don't react to them. Trust me, you don't want to anger Army. I'm unsubbing cuz of this. I can't stand when people literally disrespect other cultures or just basically being ignorant. I personally hate these introduction videos because the person who made it is a shipper. So they only refer to their relationships as "Ships" Not their actual relationship. I don't want to be that one toxic fan, but please don't do this shit. Also 1.) Yes, that was lipstick. They promised that they would put on lipstick if they won the award at the award show 2.) No, that wasn't lip-synching. The other members (obviously) were singing their parts. Bts don't do that shit, they're actually talented. 3.) No gay jokes. Man ya'll really disappointed me with those fucking jokes. Grow up. Ik I said this already, but if you're going to make fun of them, just don't react to them. God damn I'm triggered as hell. I KNOW IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE FUNNY AND I KNOW IM OVERREACTING, BUT STILL MAN. And I know it was only the guy in the back, I thank the others for maintaining mature.

Are you guys genuinely into getting to know Korean culture and BTS? I watched your first few videos about their rapper line and you seemed to like it and were more genuine but now it feels a little forced. If you are, then please read the comments and take them into consideration. Cultures are different, for example, masculinity is perceived differently - their touchiness and closeness is normal, and doesn't make them gay.

Jimin is super adobable and nobody can resist hugging him. He is a super respectful, affectionate, attentive and talented person. As a defect, he is a very insecure person either of his physical appearance or of his skills as a singer or dancer, which is why he sometimes self-demands too much. He has confessed to having done very extreme diets with the aim of being a more "handsome" man. He also confessed that until not long ago, he was obsessed with practicing and practicing his singing and dancing without rest, he almost did not socialize just for practicing and being a better artist. He currently says that he reflected on his actions and learned that extreme diets and excessive practice is not healthy. But I think he's still insecure about himself. He is a person who can be very insecure at times but when he takes the stage he is another person, he only takes over the stage. But when he comes down from the stage he reflects on his mistakes on the stage and always thinks that he could have done better. Jimin is a great artist, much loved and admired by many k-pop idols, program hosts, actors and many other people from the artistic and entertainment environment. That's why many fans talk about "the Jimin effect". It is impossible not to love and admire Jimin. Fun fact: All the members love Jimin but everyone agrees that he is the scariest when he gets angry.

You guys don't even seem to be interested in the video, especially the guy in the back who kept throwing in stupid comments the entire time If you don't feel comfortable with the members being that close to each other then I think it'd be better for you to just stop reacting to these videos. In Korea, two guys being touchy and affectionate with each other isn't necessarily considered 'gay'. I know you're obviously not used to seeing that, but the least you can do is respect the cultural differences and keep your unnecessary comments to yourselves
@princesscami122099

*I think it’s important for all of y’all to know this: In korea between close friends whether it’s between guy friends or girlfriends it’s NORMAL to be touchy with each other or being friendly with each other. It doesn’t mean it’s gay or makes them gay. It’s just part of their culture. Korea isn’t like the US were guys here just keep to themselves and are super masculine and I understand that bc I am American and I can understand if it’s weird for you at first but either way you should respect it because it’s someone else’s culture/accustoms. In Korea friends are really affectionate towards each other despite it being towards their own gender. Their culture is more open towards things like this compared to America. American’s perception of how you become likable or cool is completely different than the Asian one. I mean, I'm not saying that the values Americans and Asians are mutually exclusive- definitely not! - but rather that Americans (and most of the Western world) value concepts like traditional masculinity and strength, rather than more approved values (in the eyes of Asian society) like friendliness, charisma and intelligence.* *Asian culture really does NOT care whether a guy is more "masculine" than another. Again, don't get me wrong- I'm not saying that masculinity and strength aren't valued and respected in Asian society and culture- but seriously, the emphasis is several times less. They really care only about how smart, respectable, charismatic and talented they are. (Asian society is evolving, but that's debatable.)*

The introduction videos are quite old and I don't know why people keep recommending them. However, I can notice that you really feel uncomfortable watching them not only because of the shipping aspect (which it's a fan thing only) but because of the way they behave in general. I thought many made you aware of the cultural differences that exist regarding male friendship and skinship so I really can't help but wonder if you're even trying to go through the video without being judgemental. Since I read that you guys already recorded all the reactions, then this feedback may not be taken into account for those, but please if you feel that reacting to BTS is not your thing, then let us know and we'll stop requesting it.

i cant even watch these videos anymore, they're being disrespectful. honestly it's their culture please understand that, why would you even call him gay for that? in korea, most men are like this. please don't react to these videos if you don't enjoy them. and also, that guy at the back is really getting on my nerves. EDIT: I NEVER SAID THAT IF THEY WERE GAY IT WOULD BE A BAD THING. I mean come on. To say that they can't be gay at all, is very dumb and not very open minded. (The whole of bts could be gay, who knows, who cares) Even in the whole idol industry. 1 in 10 people are gay so use maths. I wouldn't be surprised if they were and I would support them with all of my heart (hallelujah for serious shippers but that's beside the point). I meant it as in even though being gay isn't a bad thing at all, I'm tired of reactors using that to describe them in A BAD WAY. The tone of their voice, their facial expressions, you can tell that it's judgemental. Like them being touchy with each other or just the tiniest bit more feminine is a bad thing. Because it's not, and it's like that with most men in Korea so they should stop. Them being touchy can either mean that they're close, or that they actually want be touchy with the person because they like them. OR NOT MEAN ANYTHING AT ALL. Whatever it means, it has nothing to do with us.

What softmochi is trying to say, in other words, is that (and I share the same sentiment): it is SOOOOOO annoying to see these reactors act like every close interaction between BTS members is an indication of their sexual orientation or else there's something wrong with them. Are we still doing ''gay jokes'' in 2018?!? Really? First of all, RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook have been living, practicing, struggling and creating music together under the same roof for years. So, of course they're very close to each other. Plus, they live in a cultural environment where it seems perfectly fine to be sensitive and gentle without having your masculinity or sexuality being questioned all the damn time. If two people of the same sex hug each other, it doesn't automatically mean they're romantically involved with each other. It takes a bit of maturity and a whole lot of common sense (or open-mindedness) to know that.

Please don't watch and react to these videos if they make you uncomfortable or if your going to be disrespectful. Yes this is country with freedom of speech, but there is a major difference between speaking your mind in a respectful intellectual way based on facts and not on prejudice and ignorant comments about sexuality. Whether these men are gay or not is none of our business or our place to judge or call names. Second if you are going to react to content from a different culture it might be a smart idea to educate yourselves on their culture, social norms etc., If you had take time to read prior to calling someone gay and laughing you would have discovered that men in Korea are known to be touchy unlike men in other parts of the world and it is not seen as gay its called a skinship or a bromance and its normal. It is starting to seem like your just reacting to BTS because it bring views to your channel not because your genuinely interested in their music and being disrespectful to someones cultural differences should not be excused with the statement that we live in a country with freedom of speech.

Can I be honest. I don't think these "introduction" videos specifically made by squishy min yoongi are the best videos for you guys to watch. This is a very unpopular opinion but I don't really think those videos are too informative. Yes they do provide crucial information that is good to know about the boys, but I always felt like they were a bit cringey and that they catered more to fangirls. In each introduction video, they would always comment on how something would be "fucking cute" or something that's very opinionated. Don't get me wrong, yes the boys are cute, but these introduction videos seem more like appreciation videos rather than introduction videos. Yeah idk where I went with that. I guess y'all already pre recorded all these introduction videos, but just from watching all the ones you's have already uploaded, it seems that you guys can't take them too seriously, or find it weird or cringey. I'm just trying to look at the whole picture and not just take it out on you guys. We're so thankful that you guys take our requests.

Like yes, I do ship members too, but someone who's just getting to know them won't.. I feel like the videos don't really show who the boys really are... I always get annoyed when people recommend those Intro vids and I'm over here just like... no lol I learned the boys and their personalities by watching funny moments, live performances, Bangtan Bombs, or the RUN episodes, etc.. Anyway, I feel like these guys aren't really interested anymore.. Maybe in the beginning, but not now, especially with the way they were talking about Jimin.

I like Squishy's videos even though they have some mistakes and even though I'm not into ships. They're cute, she's funny and they have a loy of information. BUT I think no fanmade video is ideal to get to know or introduce BTS members as real people. They all twist some things or have inner jokes out of context, etc. The best way to know Bangtan is to watch their own content: AHL, Bon Voyage, vLive RUN, interviews, Burn The Stage, etc. And read their song lyrics. You also need to learn about Korean culture to understand the context of their lyrics.

I'm just going to say it ...... I feel like the dude in the back that's on the right is low key gay or ooooooooor he's just really feeling BTS more than the other three dudes 😄 but I kind of wish you guys should listen and stop judging everything BTS does like the little thing .....why you have to point it out if the dude was hugging jimins nipples ????? It wasn't his intention . Honestly if your really not interested in this then why react to it ???? I'm not a hater I'm just being real with you guys ... You guys make dope videos and I do enjoy them but if your going to react to getting to know BTS shouldn't you actually try to pay attention ? I know tell you guys are bored AF and are trying to pass the time by making jokes about the video . Question what's so wrong with being brotherly to your friend or better yet ..... What's wrong with being gay ???? I don't see it ... It's just normal let people do them and don't question it unless it's you who is doing it .

V KINGS Since the videos you guys reacted to are already old info, you might as well just watch the whole BTS documentary episodes on KZbin RED, it's very new and a real backstage documentary of the boys, instead of reacting to the old ones. You are so disrespectful... just spending all time on laughing and sometimes you even don't understand what's going on at the screen. P.S. 1) he wasn't lipsync. It just wasn't his part of the song. Jungkook sang it. 2) you should learn more about Korean culture, if you don't understand anything. 3) "i wanna die" is the comment of the editor of the video. If you didn't notice, there are a lot of them in the video.

The voice you hear for the video is an automated voice meaning you can enter text and then have a voice read it so it’s not an actual person speaking. The person who made the video said I want to die... those weren’t the lyrics. They probably said that because Jimin looked good when he tilted his head back. Also he wasn’t lip syncing another member (Jungkook) was singing. Unfortunately Jimin’s laugh won’t be able to cure your diabetes as he’s too sweet. Also J-Hope and Jimin joke around and gaze into each other’s and shit. Anyway, I really respect y’all for respecting their culture & not let it through y’all off to discontinue the series. It brings joy to a lot of people.

While I agree with some to not watch these introductions in the first place (bc wrong info) at least watch them because you're interested in learning more about bts. It's super cringy watching these videos, which I stopped watching these intro reactions. I feel that I must comment! So many people seem to be defending being gay when or if that is even an issue with BTS! You must not forget that the members have been together now for in some cases 8 years! For the first 2 to 3 years of being together even before their debut they were so poor that all 7 had to sleep in one bedroom with 3 bunkbeds and 1 cot! They struggled practicing until all hours and still having to go to school because their ages were from 13 to 19 in the beginning! They also pretty much starved together barely being able to afford to eat! They were not even able to see their parents for long periods of time since they all came from far away different cities! All this gave them such a bond o f beyond brotherly love and such support for each other! Yes their culture is a much healthier touchy feely one but honestly being so close as even more than their own brothers and living together in such close quarters for so long with only themselves to comfort each other doesn't it make sense to be this comfortable with each other? Also Squishy Min Youngi, who by the way happens to be a female also tends to exaggerate on their relationships and shows many interactions with the members that are in actuality nothing more than fan service and in some cases a punishment like spanking or even kissing for the loser of a game they are playing! For some reason fandoms require and expect this of their idols plus it is non threatening to many young fans since apparently anything is better than their idols being with or dating a female!

If someone has never seen skinship before they'd be confused. We were all new to kpop at some point. These guys are showing a genuine interest in bts, and we should appreciate that. Not a lot of people would be willing to watch something that isn't in their native language. I've tried showing my brother Bts music and he liked the song but he couldn't get past the makeup or the language barrier(I showed him the Save Me mv). I even told him that the rappers of the group have rap tracks as well because I know that he loves rap music, but he said that he can't get into something he doesn't understand(he wants to understand the lyrics). So I think the fact that these guys are open minded enough to look past language barrier is great and it's going to take time for them to completely get use to k idol culture. I don't think they're trying to make fun of the culture.
@MIAMIU-ub5bf
@MIAMIU-ub5bf 6 жыл бұрын
They are forcing themselves to watch for the views, so of course they will sit through these videos. I seriously do not see much genuine interests from them, especially from the guy at the back. Looking past language barrier is to be expected in this day and age (especially as reactors on KZbin), it's nothing to be proud of honestly. The fact that the one dude had to make homophobic jokes already show much of his character. Even if I got culture-shocked, I might assume something in my head, but I will NEVER express it while laughing at them in a degrading manner. I just don';t think the K-idol culture is for them, and I think they should just stick to MVs and never get into any group's personalities.

It's great but you do know not all of us are ignorant to the fact that you guys are making fun of BTS, right? We aren't stupid. We appreciate that you react to BTS content but if you're so keen on keeping your "masculinity" to show that BTS is different from you then don't bother. There's a reason why cultural differences exist. Just because BTS doesn't fit your social and cognitive structure of what a man should be like - i.e., masculine, doesn't wear make up, doesn't touch other men closely - doesn't mean they aren't men. As a Korean, this upsets me greatly. My culture and our perception of our men does not belie on the idea of being dominant, brute, macho and rugged. Our men are refined and are founded on respect within personal preferences. This is terribly upsetting considering you all know how it feels to be belittled because of race and culture. I hope you realize thinking too highly of yourselves won't get you anywhere. Learn to accept and adjust to other cultures. We don't have the right to say whether BTS is heterosexual or not but it doesn't matter. Just because our men are different doesn't mean they aren't men. Also, most of your subscribers are ARMYs, we're not asking for much considering monetizing this video is enough payment. What we ask for is respect. Seeing as you're all apparently so educated and highly esteemed, giving a little bit of respect wouldn't hurt. I still liked this video and I'm remaining as a subscriber. I have trust in you all to see what you've been doing wrong and change. Looking forward to RM's Introduction video!
