Quite a character shift huh?? a loving dedicated Mom to a violent brutal Viltrumite with little regard for anyone who is NOT a Viltrumite. There are things that I unfortunately spoiled for myself, but all I'll say is that we should expect to see more of her if the show continues to air.

despite the fact that they're sitting inside a whale at the moment, this is where the Boys start to value Hughie a little bit more. The exposing of the Compound V was a great start; but M.M. staying with Hughie and just goin "Yep" when Hughie calls him an asshole, shows a Bro moment unfolding. M.M. is just like. "I'll give Hughie a moment to sort shit out, but Imma be here for him when he's ready to start moving again."

I saw an interview with Anthony Starr talking about this episode, and he said he was practically crying laughing at the noise when the kid landed. He said a lot of the cast gave him funny looks because of it, and that just made him laugh even more. Mr Starr seems like a genuinely nice and chill person, but sometimes you just gotta let your dark side out.

Vkunia said he could have landed anywhere instead of ramming the whale, but I’m not sure that’s true because hitting the whale was the only way to knock out the Deep since he was standing on it. If they went around the whale Deep would have just started fighting them. (Of course they had a couple of supes of their own to help but Deep is still strong enough to mess up the rest of them possibly.) But yeah, beyond that the whale didn’t deserve it, RIP “Lucy”.

My first thought when I saw the name on the stream was "Oh, they have Stormfront in this universe? But why are they live streaming?". Then I thought "Oh, it's her name and she probably shoots lightning or something. Still a very unfortunately name they gave her...". She even fooled me when she talked about Pippi Longstockings. But when she blasted that black family I immediately knew what the writers were doing. Kinda wild that there's not a single reactor who recognized the name beforehand.

@@Dark__Thoughts Kripke and Ennis honestly wanted you to have that experience with Stormfront. Ennis really had a negative view of the superhero narrative when he wrote The Boys. So much so he wanted to point out the origins of these narratives in WWII propaganda by both the Germans and the Allies. He also wanted to link it to the supremacist movements that were happening in American at the time. Kripke had to take that dark story and make it more accessible to the modern TV viewer while subverting expectations. StormFront is a play on Thor and Captain Marvel (Shazam not the Marvel Captain Marvel). While having that link to the supremacists movement and with the old forms of propaganda.

V is one of the few who didn't like Stormfront at the start. I thought it was good because a lot of people liked her character so the reveal in these two episodes was really fun since it crushed their love of the character. Its not a spoiler but MM is OCD, thats why you see him doing things so precise like this. Its a little more subtle in the show than the comic.

Yeah, MM's symptoms are pattern control rather than the more severe pattern compulsion. That type of OCD is more often a strong anxiety response from C-PTSD, often childhood or teens. I major trauma that completely takes away their control, so later in life the pattern control and obsessing is a way of trying to maintain some agency on your life

episode #3: the fascinating thing about stormfront's heel-turn is its huge surprise for audience members below a certain age. when the comics were written 20 years ago "stormfront" was the name of one of the internet's most infamous watering holes for neo-nazis and white supremacists. in the comics the character was a (male) fanatical supernazi. (there are still clues on tv stormfront's costume.) that in 2020 her reveal comes as a surprise actually should be seen as a sign of hope for our species.
