Let’s continue to watch the Mission Impossible franchise 😎 This episode is one of my favourite thanks the action and Philip Seymour Hoffman, best bad guy.
@christianwise63710 ай бұрын
Philip Seymour Hoffman really makes this film, he takes a character that could've been very forgettable and one-note and he turns him into one of the most unsettling and skin-crawlingly characters imaginable and easily the best villain in the series. This film as a whole isn't one of my favourites, it's an improvement on the previous film but it still feels a little rough in a little places, especially in the visuals (it's easy to see that J. J. Abrams was still struggling with the transition from TV to film direction here). Also, I don't think any of the characters we're introduced to in this film are particularly fun or memorable, and while I love a lot of the action scenes, particularly the bridge battle, I think the final sequence is a little bit anticlimactic. I still really enjoy this one and it works very nicely as a transition point from the uneven experimental early films and the really good stuff we've had more recently. On that note, super stoked to see what you make of Ghost Protocol and the rest of the series, it really only gets better from here on out

I think you'll really like the next one. The fifth one is personally my favorite though, it's such a head-trip trying to figure out who's on whose side, and it constantly surprises you, and has one of the most satisfying ending payoffs in any movie I've seen. Also Dead Reckoning Part 1 that came out last year is phenomenal, I've already watched it several times. It's easily one of the best entries as well, honestly puts up a fight for the top spot for me.

This is the film that changed the series imo, and JJ's style left an indelible mark on the tone going forward (I guess especially since he stayed as a producer). Then McQ came on to direct the last 4 movies, and him and Tom seem to have a great collaborative relationship, and their movies take it to another level. But this is definitely one of my favourites of the MI films!

For the chinese part, the running scene which Ethan says: Zou Kai, in google translate yeah it means clear off or step a side. But we dont use "Zou Kai" when we need to pass through its kinda rude in our language means "get off my way" or more aggression "fuck off", in that case we'll say "Jie Guo, Jie Guo", which means excuse me, let me pass.

Late comment. J.J. Abrams, from years of working behind the scenes on many projects to getting major shine with television (Felicity, Lost & Alias) and co-writing Armageddon (no.1 film of 1998). M-I:3 is not only J.J.'s directorial film debut. It's also his first of 4 sequels as an producer. Also it's a direct sequel to Part 1 with part 2 not being canonical due to it's reception. Stakes have certainly grown higher as The late Philip Seymour Hoffman is incredibly vicious as Davien. Hunt and co. still defy the odds even when his potential marriage is in danger. All over the place and very good, beat for beat. A really good 3rd film of any series is rare, these days.

J.J. Abrams's work on his spy TV show Alias (starring Jennifer Garner and Bradley Cooper amongst others) brought him to attention to Cruise for MI:III. This movie feels like a big budget episode of Alias in fact (except with a male lead). Keri Russel later starred in the Cold War era spy TV show "The Americans" as the female side of a Soviet sleeper cell in the USA (which is well worth the watch BTW, as it was based on actual spycraft used by the Soviets). Maggie Q later starred in the spy TV show Nikita as the title character (a loose sequel to the earlier La Femme Nikita spy TV show, which in turn was based on the Luc Besson movie of the same name, which was remade in the USA as Point Of No Return).

Mission Impossible 3 is a great movie and I really enjoyed watching it with you. What I really love about this movie is how Ethan Hunt(Tom Cruise) balances out his personal/love life with his work life which is him being an agent of MI6. The cast is great including Tom Cruise, Michelle Monaghan, Laurence Fishburne, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Maggie Q, Phillip Seymour Hoffman(RIP) and many others. RIP always

Nice reaction V. This is my favorite Impossible film, yes, the first is good but the story and action sequences were a hit for me. I thought it would've been cool if Keri had her own movie, not Impossible related, just to show her training and what she went through that led up to her situation. Tom and crew were phenomenal as usual.

Tom Cruise was a big star aside from all his Mission Impossible movies and his scifi movies. But those are the ones I like the best. The scifi movies, they're "Edge of Tomorrow," "Oblivion," and "Minority Report." "Vanilla Sky" is also memorable, but I'd say it's more of an acquired taste. For a fun movie that laughs at his Ethan Hunt role, try "Knight and Day."

Tom cruise has the best run of any actor I wonder if he practiced to get it that good or came by it naturally. The best actress running overall I'm not sure but for a single movie Bryce Dallas Howard being able to run in heels in Jurassic World is beyond impressive. It got some grief online but if there were dinosaurs chasing me I doubt I would go all John McLain trying to find shoes that fit either.

I remember when this came out, after having been somewhat disappointed with MI:I and very disappointed with MI:II, I had high hopes based solely on the fact JJ Abrams was directing it. I was a massive fan of the show Alias, which he created, so I knew he understood how to make a spy-thriller and I was right. This film finally felt like the old series did and since then they have mostly been on the right track with these films. I really wish he'd go back to making these types of movies and/or TV instead of messing around with Star Trek and Star Wars. BTW, JJ likes to bring in friends and people he's worked previously with on his projects, so you will often see familiar faces in his work. For example: Keri Russell shows up as Lindsey (the agent they tried to rescue at the beginning) because Felicity was JJ's first TV show. Later on, in Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker, she plays the bounty hunter Zorii Bliss, the one who never takes her helmet off.

just you wait till you can look them up..... Eventually Tom Cruise takes over and Mission Impossible is HIS franchise, where he makes all the decisions about the films. And they actually show you the stunts he performs as advertisements for the movie. Car chases, Motorcycles, helicopters, etc. Tom Cruise is a certified Pilot and has flown even military aircraft. The problem is, since they happened later in his career if you look them up now you'll be exposed to lots of spoilers for future movies.

I went on my first date and saw MI-1. This one is my favorite though. I was so nervous on my date I sat frozen to my chair with her beside me. Every couple of minutes I'd glance at her out of the corner of my eye. A couple of times I saw her staring at me. I either loved her or liked her so much that I thought it was love. I went out on one more date with her after that then we graduated and I never saw her again. It's been nearly 30 years and 1 class reunion that I went to but didn't see her. Sometimes I wonder what I'd say if I ever saw her again. Would I keep my past feelings bottled up like I've done for the past 2 decades? Or should I tell her and ruin her day by telling her that I had a crush on her. Should I risk the chance of ruining mine by telling her I had a crush then have her say so did she? I guess I'll never know. Deep down, I hope that I never see her again so I don't have to make that choice.

I'm sorry I have to say this. Yes it's true, Tom Cruise does his own stunts. However, just like any action movie that is filmed, it's cut up, edited, and CGI'd sometimes so he is not doing as much as the final cut makes you think. That's not taking anything away from this awesome actor, I just have seen too many people watching his films saying "he actually did that". For example he did that great bike stunt off the cliff on the last movie then parachutes and goes right through the side wall of the moving train. Lol...while yes he did the real bike stunt off the cliff, you must know that he didn't actually go through the side wall of a real moving train like I have watched several people say he did. You just have to stay grounded about this stuff. BTW...I wouldn't do any of his stunts because I'm a baby. Just had to say that before someone tries calling me out.
