One of , but for me the best vilain is the former MI6 agent, Solomon Lane , he was a threat to Ethan Hunt and the world in both Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation, and Mission: Impossible - Fallout. Lane is the only antagonist to battle Ethan Hunt across two films, and even with his supposed death, it’s impossible to know for sure. Lane is a true sadist, an evil and cunning man who will do anything, and stop at nothing, to achieve his evil goals as the terrorist leader of the Syndicate. I Put Davian after him .

Such a underrated movie in the franchise. This was the turning point from cheesy and cool to fucking awesome! The second movie wasn’t as well received as the first one; JJ Abrams wasn’t yet considered a movie director, only TV, and Cruise had the whole Scientology and crazy breakdown on Oprah. All this was the perfect storm for this movie to be devalued and ignored, I think.
@latech76712 ай бұрын
So, as you probably know the first 5 movies in this franchise were all done by different directors. Between 2 and this one there was A LOT of time that passed because Tom Cruise didn't see any reason to do another (and the second one was not received very well so it didn't seem like a big franchise). The reason this movie was made is because of a TV-Show or more specifically the director for that TV-Show: J. J. Abrams. Tom Cruise like that show and the directing from J. J. Abrams a lot and wanted a Mission Impossible in a similar style so he brought him in and they made this movie. This was basically J. J. Abrams first Blockbuster he ever directed. So, in a way the 3rd Mission Impossible revived this franchise and made it possible for it to become a franchise at all. The next one however would also become a "first" for the director they hired (and honestly this one is even more wild to me): For "Ghost Protocol" they hired Brad Bird how is most known for "The Iron Giant" and "The Incredibles". YES, Brad Bird was a director of only animated Movies. Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol was the first Live-Action Movie he ever directed which is absolutely crazy (especially once you have seen that movie). MI: Ghost Protocol is the movie in this franchise that shaped how a modern Mission Impossible looks and how it is made. After Ghost Protocol even with a new director the movies did change somewhat but not as dramatically anymore as before. So, MI: Ghost Protocol basically found the DNA of this franchise. With the 5th however, they also found the Director for this franchise: Christopher McQuarrie. He already helped with the 4th movie but fully directed the 5th and every MI-Movie after that. He did keep the style of movie from Ghost Protocol but with every new movie he did change the style at least a bit (even between the movies he directed) but the style-switch is not nearly as big as changing directors from 1-4. In a way I am kind of sad that they don't change directors anymore since that was pretty unique for this franchise (and they were on top of that really bold in their choices for Director) BUT the style they landed now is so good that you can't be mad about it. Well, I wanted to give this as a background before you go into the modern era of Mission Impossible. I hope you read it and enjoyed that bit of background information
