As someone who discovered Dune through the new movie, all I wanted was more Baron screen time. Whether he was in the Anti-toxic pool or when he hovers (floats?) in air, absolutely menacing.
@cordonez1625 Жыл бұрын
He hovers. To float you must be less dense than air. Meaning the Baron would need a humongous (like blimp) suit which would be too big. He would need to hover though “anti-gravity” technology which would only make him hover, and not immune to gravity.

There is a lot of difference between Dune Encyclopedia canon and the Expanded Dune Universe canon, and while both canons have their place (and are both debated in literary circles), it's likely that the movie-universe will follow the Expanded Universe canon as that's the canon endorsed by the Frank Herbert estate

Strange to see that rewrite of the conception of lady jessica. All I remember from the books is that Harkonnen was into boys and that the only reason he got a daughter was "experimentation"in his youth, not a planned pregnancy on his part or rape. @@BigMikeMcBastard Well not loveless obviously in all cases, there are at least two loving relationships there and some certainly married them but Leto was safer if people thought he could still marry into their family. @filmcomicsexplained Are you using AI now, to do the reading? iv noticed a sudden drop in correct pronunciation and stuff. I dont mind, dont get me wrong, but the whole dune series so far has had moments that seem very much like Siri was attempting to read a script. Ski-on at 1:20, straight out of the gate, is Scion, S-eye-On. Sorry to be a nitpicky asshole, im just curious

What about the Baron's spirit being bound to a long-range anti-tank artillery rifle in the possession of a certain female vampire (you know how they appreciate their heavy firearms)?

The cinema release has the baron spitting on Leto, which is mysteriously removed from the Smithee version. Which is probably why Lynch disowned it.
