Gordon’s and Beefeater are just really smooth and work well with mixing for people that don’t like gin. “Better” gin tends to be very juniper forward and a lil harsh.

Great video and well done in pointing out that a martini is NOT Bond's drink or choice in the books. In fact, he seems to prefer good old bourbon (and branch water) or scotch if memory serves. As for the martini, which happens to be my favorite cocktail, that is clearly more of an affect in the Bond movies. Of course, the Vesper is what people equate with Bond. For a more accurate Vesper Martini if using Lillet Blanc, add a drop (not a dash) of agostino bitters to the Lillet Blanc. "kina" means quinine. The bitters will replicate quinine in this drink. An ever better choice would be Cocchi Americano, which is closer to Kina Lillet than Lillet Blanc. The best but more expensive substitute, and probably more accurate is Kina L'Avion d'Or, but it is harder to find. The Vesper is my favorite martini.

First of all I’d like to say that this video was amazingly excellent. Well done! Bravo! For my own Dark Vesper I typically use; 3 oz Brooklyn Industry Vodka (Super Clean Taste) 1 oz Hendrix Gin A teaspoon of Lillet Blanc or Cocchi and finally 1/2 oz of brine (preferably spicy) As you know the Vespers were the evening prayers or “Eveningsong” of the Catholics and I believe it’s only fitting that this particular cocktail is both potent and somewhat cloudy, reflecting the gravity and ambiance of a peaceful day’s end. I sincerely hope you enjoy my version! You are talented beyond compare. I look forward to every presentation!
