Florida like DL said is subdivided. There are 5 subdivisions. Padhandle, Central like Orlando, South Florida, North East Florida which is mostly military transplants and ppl from South Georgia (Georgia the state not the country), and the Keys. That’s it. Different lifestyles and cultures. Jacksonville and Miami are night and day. Orlando and the Keys are night and day. Etc etc. So when a whole diverse state gets lumped in together by some, I can tell they have never lived throughout the state. Just like some ppl think all of New York is like NYC. They go to one or two cities and assume the whole state is like that.

Thanks for asking the question. Here is the deal with Florida. Florida would want you to believe that they are not part of the south when it comes to race relation. They think and will tell you that they are not as bad as Alabama or Mississippi for example. They think that because they wasn't born there or in the south at all. I lived in FLA for almost ten years while I was in the Navy. FLA justice system is just as bad or worst then the rest of the south. They are good at keeping there BS off the news.

Arbery had felony convictions prior to his killing. The people that attempted to arrest Arbery for criminal Trespass (posted) were the same people that prosecuted Arbery for his prior crime. They had every right to attempt citizens arrest when a crime is apparent. There is a question if the retired police officer still retains normal arrest powers even after retiring. Here's an idea: don't commit a crime or do dumb crap to draw attention to yourself to where police or other persons would want to stop you. Don't trespass or have prior convictions if you are concerned about being killed. Arbery was a jackass and he died a jackass.
