Glad didn't mention it, but Slim's dad is a member/founder of 'Rebirth'(one of the biggest jazz bands in New Orleans). After Soulja Slim was killed it seems like New Orleans went quiet. I remember listening to Q93 that night and the next day and callers/djs were stunned. I think I heard Vlad wrong, but, the dude who killed Slim didn't go to prison, however, the streets caught up to him and killed him....

I remember my uncle tellin me Slim got killed on Thanksgiving 03 before it even hit the news way out here in NC. My unk actually knew Slim and used to be back and forth from NC to NO all the time because he knew Slim manager at the time, which was Anthony Murray and he was also tryna promote his local artist down there who went by Gucci. Plus my unk and his brother co-owned the Platinum club around 01-02, the same club C-Murder "allegedly" shot the young dude in. I'm from NC so if u from the N.O. and readin this u know I know what I'm talkin bout.

Yes he did speak his mind and the truth …. On the album “The Streets Made Me” listen to track #4 (and for you millennials that’s a number sign not a damn hashtag … whatever the hell that is) song named “Soulja 4 Life” it came out on No Limit. This song is speaking on everything that plagues our community today. Back in those days you can put in a CD and let it play from the intro to the outtro. Rest well Slimm, you are truly missed!
