During the Shah years, during the 1970s, an average middle class person living in Tehran, who owned a small apartment that would currently collect 500 dollars in rent in a very average neighbourhood, the rental income from 2 years would be sufficient to buy a 2 bedroom condo in Beverly Hills CASH, I shitee u not. Iran has been in a fighter jet going in Reverse, steady for the past 40 years. It was all thanks to the CIA🤔. People from Turkey used to move to Tehran in droves to work as domestic workers and labourers, like individuals do from Mexico to the U.S, the Passport was the 3rd most powerful in the world back then and you could go to like 160 countries with out a visa. Iran got right ......ed.

Honestly I've been watching PBD/Valuetainment pretty much since the beginning, I think PBD is one of the best interviewers I've ever seen, I like the content he puts out he's very well spoken & knowledgeable, now after giving such high praise I also have to say I was pretty disappointed and lost some respect for him when I found out he made his fortune heading an exploitative MLM scheme. Whatever people may think of Khomeini there is no comparison between him and the Shah of Iran. The Shah and his family were corrupt, his cronies were corrupt, they ruled a very conservative country whilst being ultra liberal, there was all kinds of tales of their degeneracy. Additionally they tortured people and he was an authoritarian ruler, whose country was starving, the disparity between rich and poor was massive. On the other side you a have Religious figure, who to Shia Muslims is like the Dalai Lama, no corruption, lives modestly, preaches good morals which aligns with the majority of peoples beliefs in the country. So it’s easy to see why people followed and supported him. Everyone wants it to be some kind of western conspiracy, but the truth is the Shah, his family and their institution just weren’t good rulers. Majority of the people hated them and overthrew them, are the people of Iran better off now? I don’t know but painting the Shahs regime as some utopia is false.
