In part 4 we discuss the fix action for our W210. It's surprisingly simple
and a little embarrassing. We also say goodbye to our W210.

I really like my car and I'm trying to restore it as much as possible.

I decided to get under the car and to my surprise, the fuel filter was installed backwards my the mechanic. I already ordered the new one and will install it myself. I hope that was the cause of the buzzing noise and making my car not start right away. I'm really trying to save my car, my folks tell me stop spending money on the car but oh well...

I have a 2001 E320 with same symptoms. Already changed the crankshaft position sensor 3 times and fuel pump 2 times and starts but 1 out of 20, it stays cranking for about 5 seconds. Fuel pump stays on making buzzing sound all the time I'm driving it, it's bothering. I used a URO fuel pump but I'm getting another one of better brand. Maybe the buzzing sound while driving goes away.

Got similar issue on my 2000 E320. Praying it's just the pump as I've done the CPS. I could never sell it thoghh, it means too much to me.

Aw man, the w210 is a nice car. I wouldn't mind having one for myself so that my w126 can be a secondary vehicle. You'll have to keep us posted on how that TDI treats you. I've been wanting to try one out, they seem to be a good buy.

W126's are awsome! Not reliable or fuel efficient, but awsome!

@@zerolash406 Not reliable? I would beg to differ - a well-kept W126 is reliable as all get out. I’ve had several family members own them and they’ve been some of the most reliable cars they’ve had. Fuel efficiency definitely is a weak point unless you have a diesel mode.

@@AKJeeper my w126 isn't the most reliable, I suspect it's because it has 850k km on the clock...she has a mind of her own when it comes to starting and idling, she's always got me home though one way or the other... Same story with a buddy of mine's w124 and my neighbors R129...O suppose in that respect you can't really blame the cars themselves...

I always wanted one of those diesel gate cars. Namely the Porsche Cayenne Diesel with the 3l or even the wagon you have. Wonderful engines by all accounts. Although some people remove all the crap they have been saddled with and see as much as 10mpg fuel economy improvement. At least that's what I heard from the neighborhood cat.

The 210 is gone?!? Say it ain’t so! Happy motoring in that new wagon - love those cars. Had a ‘13 Passat with a manual transmission. 5-cylinder engine was kinda weak, but it was the smoothest-shifting manual I’ve driven.

so that plug caused it to get no power to the pump as you said was the deal in the first video?

There was never a power issue. Use these videos as guidelines for identifying the components and possible areas to check. My entire problem ultimately was a faulty fuel pump when I replaced it, I left the cover on the new one. After that, the car still would not crank. so I gave up and took it to a shop and they found what I had done. That is the honest truth.

ok and i have pretty much done everything you did in the past 2 days before i found this video before i go spending money i was just wondering if that blockage was the problem for not getting power to the pump cuz i have same issue and i am taring into just as you did lol@@ImpalamansGarage

Figures, was the body of it white as well ? why don't they use brightly colored plastic plugs like we are used to...

No. I'm just a DA I reckon. The pump housing metal inlet is simply grey color galvanized metal. Poor lighting plus poor vision close up......
