My favourite of the 3! Maybe when you do another video you can dive deeper into the different species. One thing I always enjoy about your videos and reef builders articles is learning the actual names of coral species which 90% of people don’t bother to learn.

One of my favorite tanks I've had over the years was a 120g soft coral (and rose bubble tip) tank. The anemone added extra color that I liked, and it also allowed me to keep a few dwarf angels (flame, bicolor and coral beauty) that I would not trust in a LPS/SPS tank which also added color. And my plan with it was to just let that thing grow wild, no pruning to keep things happy just let everything grow together, although I did have to change my mind on that when a colt coral grew to like 8 inches wide at the base. I really think that will be a very special tank that may not be as appreciated as a stony tank that has more colors than those in the rainbow.

holy crap. I never would have guessed that giant was a Duncan colony.

Thanks for sharing the IM series of tanks! I have one of those long polyp toadstools and it lacks color but I just LOVE the way it flows!

Great video Jake! At 6:30 you talk about a coral that looks like Caulastrea. It was difficult to understand what you called it. Was wondering if I can get a positive ID on that. Thank you!

When I started in the hobby I was all about fancy colored designer corals. I got lost in it. In 2018 I went to the Philippines to snorkel. The natural reefs there did not look like the photoshopped pictures of designer corals. That got me thinking 🤔. In 2018 I started a new tank with a bunch of RBT nems and some softies. Now two years later I have a similar tank just like you with lots of softies and I'm never going back. It looks so natural and it's so easy to keep and they grow so quickly. And there are lovely colored softies to get. They're truly underrated.

Jake I'm absolutely loving the channel and studio. The filming is fantastic and the tanks 10/10. If you improved the sound quality to reduce the echo and occasional muffledness and added captions you would have the best produced aquarium channel on KZbin!

I love the videos and the tanks! I have a question, any advice on getting rid of turf algae?
@ReefBuildersVideo5 жыл бұрын
Manually at first, then keep the phosphates down, reduce light intensity, heck put a rock over it if there's no corals nearby or smother it with a pile of sand

Can you maybe write down a list of which Corals are in this Setup ? I want to get more Softcorals but they are quite hard to get cause eveyone wants high end acro´s . Also maybe make a video about trimming softies without damaging the whole apperance of the tank ? Greetings from Germany ;)

Great to see some appreciation for softies I think they are WAY underrated!! Would love to see you get creative with the rock work though.
