Vlog 57: Ride Super Pig

In this video I go through the all new Ride Super Pig!
Follow along as I compare the differences between the original War Pig, and this new, premium version of it, that is the Super Pig.
Between the added carbon and camber- the Super Pig is definitely a more powerful and precise version of an old classic.
The Super Pig is chargy and big mountain feeling- and comes with a camber dominant profile that achieves loads more pop than the original War Pig.
I was very impressed by this board as a whole, and I consider it one of my best of test's from last season. I rode it through some trees on a slight dusting of new snow in April of last season. As you can see, it did not let me down.

Had the same toughts about the graphics for the twinpig bud after I got it it looks better in reality than in videos and pictures xD and they invented stickers to fix the graphics :D the shredlife Board Archive sticker shines in the Board :D I hope they add some magnatraction tech in one of the next seasons. I really want a superpig as my third board ^^

NOOBOARD thats interesting, ive ridden my 18 medium warpig on some stupid icey days and I honestly prefer that over my orca with its magnatraction.

Epic dude! Haha the NYC sign tossers are legand. And the large is the 154? And xl is the 158, right? It's so wide! I went with the 154 at demo day, loved it. I rode it in real icy conditions and the edge hold was extremely well. So we'll in fact I left my gopro on and just giggled the whole time. Ruined my review video, but glad to see you pumping out more!

Either the Medium or the Large. You could use either or. I would prefer the large for big mountain, vs the medium for smaller hills.

Nice riding my man! Stoking for the season! Kinda random but Hows the 2017 Gnu SPAM (pink and blue one) compare to the orca? Everyone says theres nothing that compares. Anyway, I picked up the spam last year and was curious. Cheers bro!

The SPAM is a great board, its just not as wide over all. So there's not as much of a volume reduction, meaning you wouldn't size down like you would with the Orca.

Hey Andreas! I've spent days researching and just cannot make up my mind on picking up a SuperPig or an Orca. I ride with fast skiiers (60+mph at times), but spend about half of each day in the trees. So a fast groomer/tree/powder board is what Im looking for. Can you help me out with my decision? I would get the Orca. I personally really like the C2X camber profile. And the Magnetraction will still let it rail at speed.

My favourite is the Yes Optimistic. Carves like a mad man, floats super well too.

Yes I have. Its stiff and powerful. I feel like that board rode me! Great for bank slalom. I had the one with the Mermaid hailing down the train from hell.

Hi Andreas, loving the content! Ive demo’d the Super pig 154 and absolutely loved it. So I bought it in size 158, cause the Guys at the store recommended that for my size (6’3” 210 lbs). But now Im wondering if that size would lose the kinda nimble feel of the 154. What size would you recommend for me?

Thanks for all the snowboard knowledge! I’m wondering how this stacks up with the Salomon Dancehaul. Which do you think is more versatile? How much more aggressive do you think the super pig is?

Just got up close and personal with the Super Pig (large), GNU Gremlin, and DanceHaul (152) at my local shop and can say all 3 are super nice volume-shifted options! The DanceHaul has more side-cut and is noticeably more narrow which would be great if your main game is carving IMO. The Gremlin also has a deeper side-cut, but also a 'kind-of-camber' profile (still some rocker between feet), and it also feels more like a carving / slasher dominate shape. But there is a noticeable difference in the look and feel of the SuperPig, which I opted for as it checked more "all mountain / all conditions" boxes for me. Along with being the most versatile and aggressive of the 3, it also has way more tech and modern-shape concepts going on in it which I figured will no doubt equal to good times on snow. Hope that helps!

@@agentwomack1 yeah that does thanks! I think I’m gonna get the super pig. I’m having trouble choosing the right size (6’2” 170-175lbs 11.5-12 US boot). I’m mostly riding trees and uneven snow. Can’t decide between the med and large. Think the large would be too slow turning?

@TheSketchyBean I’m 5’11 / 170 / 10.5 boot, and have the Large. Compared the M & L in person as well and there is only a 2.5mm difference on each side of the nose, waist, and tail between the two, and a 3cm different in length. For my experience and riding style I wanted the extra horsepower those little size differences would make. In your case it may be better to get the Large just based on your boot size. You might loose a little bit of maneuverability in areas like the park by going longer, but IMO it would be very minor, and overall you would benefit more from the wider waist. 🤙🏼

Hay Andreas I have just bought the 2019 jones aviator and the soloman craft to help me learn switch and mainly use indoors as i live in the uk. Have i made a good choice and what are you opinions them?

The Craft is definitely softer flexing and more versed for somewhere like an indoor slope. The fact that its softer makes it more ply-able, forgiving, and easier to press. The Aviator is firmer, stronger and more powerful. Less flexy feeling, but very energetic once you get it carving a little faster. I would say the Aviator is better as a big mountain freestyle board. But regardless, you should be able to learn switch on either of them fairly well.

Hi, what size do you recommend for a 175 lb, 8.5 US boot, 5’ 11” intermediate rider carving groomers, riding some pow and hitting occasional small natural feature jumps? Been riding a burton custom X 160 for 10 years and ready to give volume shifted boards a go for better maneuverability.

@@barrydelfin5834 151 superpig. Definitely took time to get used to the volume shifted size. Less maneuverability compared to the narrower custom.

@@rick2tube Thanks for the reply. Did you happen to try out the Warpig? My thought is the Superpig would be too much like the Custom X in terms of camber and top of the line materials and I want something different.

@@barrydelfin5834 no I didn't try the warpig. I was looking for a camber board. After a few seasons on the superpig, I picked up a more traditional shaped board (K2 alchemist) for quicker edge to edge agility. Superpig is good for powder days.
