I went to Microcenter in Dallas for the first time last week and picked up parts for my first rig. Super awesome store, with some amazing employees who know their stuff. I have yet to tweak my settings of my PC but its running great so far.

I'll be honest. I didn't look that hard into thermals when selecting my case. I have the H700i NZXT and it's quite spacious. I think the airflow is just fine but I invested in some solid fans. My temps have been fantastic for everything. 2. it's funny that you mention G skill and corsair vengeance because I honestly like both of those (the trident z and vengeance pro) They're both great quality. I think G Skill would offer you more value for your money. I would personally go that direction but you cannot go wrong with either option. They both also look amazing as well.

The Dallas Micro Center has been stocking up pretty good as of recently but yeah GPU shortage is still bad overall. Check into prebuilts too! That's how I got my 3080. Lol

Haha sorry I've recently built a couple PCs so i didn't need to make another one. I just wanted to showcase that you had all the parts you needed to build a PC at microcenter. I don't recall seeing a room where you could assemble a PC but there is a PC building service available for a fee if you wanted to just pick the parts and have them assemble.

What do you recommend for a starter gaming pc prebuilt. Budget $1600

I'm sure you've heard this one before but... i would recommend building it yourself first and foremost. The majority of it is putting it together and I don't mind walking you through it. With prebuilt PC's a lot of the time, you'll see the main components like GPU, CPU, etc and it looks good on paper but you won't see things like how they skimped on a cheap power supply, motherboard, etc. I believe Micro Center also had a service to build the PC for you as well! As far as a budget goes for $1600, you can build a pretty solid computer for sure! I would have to get a feel for your needs to give you a good recommendation but for that kinda money i'm pretty sure you'd be able to get into rtx 2070 territory for your gpu and a solid processor. Very nice!! I think I sourced almost all my PC parts online (amazon, newegg, etc.) before everwalking into Micro center. They honestly have some good deals that you can't find anywhere else. Definitely recommend them now. I also had to buy part by part over several weeks before assembling everything so do what you gotta do!

Basically, for someone to get an idea of what parts you'll need, you'll need to determine what FPS you're trying to target, what resolution, what graphical settings you're gonna play on, what's your budget, and are you doing anything else other than gaming. Micro Center will definitely build your PC for you and they will also help you choose your parts. I think the fee is $150 if you don't want to build it yourself. Welcome to the PC world!!

If you dont have a build in mind, a Ryzen 5 3600. GTX 2060 super. and 16 gigs of ram with a 500 gig ssd and a 2tb hard drive is a nice option for around 1,000 and will run most games on ultra at 100+ fps

If you're asking me, my main reason is that you could actually source every single part you need to build a PC from that one store and have a complete computer tailored to your needs. I think Fry's electronics was a good choice too but that store is having a lot of issues right now.
