I came here to say this exactly! The mix is great. I think it’s totally ‘real life’ that sometimes we all do ‘surface level’ things and that is ok and needed sometimes. Your ‘surface level’ food recommendations on some of your travels really made my trip to the US as a severely gluten intolerant person a more enjoyable thing. Never underestimate how much the less deep content can help someone.

If you think of your relationship with your audience as a friendship, it makes sense that not every interaction is super deep and meaningful. Sometimes we're talking about life and hard things, sometimes we're doing hauls or bonding over how hard it is to be a human in a body. We're here for all of it.

When I was young my father had a lung disease & spent weeks in Duke several times a year. My mother would take us to see the gardens to help us all relax a little & unwind from all the stress of having a parent that was never well. I really enjoy your videos, Jordy is so sweet, kind & understanding. I have a daughter that is 30, she just got out of a very abuse relationship, my hopes are that she finds someone that kind too. ❣

As someone who has been blogging for 12 years, I can relate to the struggle with content that is authentic and vulnerable vs surface level or “fluff.” I believe it helps to think of content creation like any relationship. Sometimes you have deep, heartfelt conversations, and sometimes you go get your nails done. It’s a balance. So give yourself an abundance of grace. I have been struggling physically for 2 weeks, I got a staph infection internally and then have a stomach infection. Part of it is because I’m auto immune and my immune system is shot so get things easier. But burn out city here. For a full week I couldn’t cook, clean or do laundry. My family and house suffered. Something I have learned that has been so helpful in life is the idea of having “both.” For so long, I thought I had a “this or that” mentality. And I still struggle with that, but the difference is, I remind myself that I can be grateful and still be anxious. I can be happy yet still feel some sadness. I personally love the mix of what you share online, because Jordy is absolutely right. I like to call it "cotton candy for your brain" type content, but I love the hauls and the clothing try ons, making your bed, or a video where you're decorating your apartment, because sometimes we just want to enjoy something simple and sweet, but the emotions, the vulnerability and the honest are always welcome when you feel like sharing it. I have observed especially right now, people are seeking less deep thoughts and more surface level type things. Its not to say we dont appreciate depth, but life has been DEEP the past 3 years. I'm always a silent (and loving!!) viewer of yours but I feel compelled to share... My husband and I moved to Durham almost 2 years ago from Colorado and it was a really, really hard life change for me - leaving my family, friends, and everything I had ever known. I struggled for a really long time (and sometimes still do) to appreciate and see the beauty around me. It was SO cool and lovely to see where I live through someone else's eyes. Michel I speak only for myself but I’m sure others will agree, we love the deep we appreciate when you share, we get to know we’re not alone but also that we can give you some support and let you know you’re not alone too. We also love some surface level fun that brightens our day and lifts our spirits it’s good to have a mix so please don’t feel pressured to be deep all the time. Share what you’re comfortable with when you’re comfortable. As an avid viewer who loves your content it would deeply upset me to think you were sharing something above and beyond your comfort level because you felt you had too because it’s your job. I’d much rather you looked at us like the friends you say we are and only tell us what your happy to share. We don’t in real life share everything with our friends so you don’t have to share with us. Thank you for being so real! I believe this helps more people than you realize. I have a gluten sensitivity which I now believe to be undiagnosed celiac. I cut gluten out before going to a doctor so unfortunately I get inaccurate blood tests. With that said, I have noticed the same. If I’m physically off and especially if I’ve been glutened, I notice anxiety WAY more. Our gut- brain connection is huge. God, magnesium supplements, and just pouring out my heart as you so bravely did, has helped me. Your real self is your best self!❤😊. Thank you for sharing. Praying for you!

Honestly, when life has been really heavy for me I love watching chill vlogs where you clean or walk Max or cook something. I get paralyzed when I'm too overwhelmed and watching something light helps lift me out a little 💛
