Those kids had the BEST time searching for their eggs!! It was great Don was there to spend that time with the kids as well. Being mature adults with something so difficult is the absolute best for CC and Donny. I commend you both for the effort you put in to make this transition easier for them, because their normalcy and happiness is really the most important factor. I really enjoyed watching, so thanks for sharing. My youngest is 17, so the egg hunts and surprises on Easter aren't quite what they used to be. Take care of yourself and keep on moving on. That's really all we can do at this point in this crazy world and time!!

As someone who had parents that got divorced when I was 5, I appreciate so much that they were civil and kept my younger brother and I out of any drama/situation they may have had going on. We celebrated certain holidays together (not all) and I spent almost equal time between them. Now that I’m 25 I appreciate just how much each of them had to sacrifice for us to have a great childhood by setting their differences aside. It’s clear you’re doing the same and I promise you that Charlotte and Donny will be so thankful as they grow up. You’re doing amazing. 💛

it’s so admirable to see separated parents (whether officially divorced or not) normalizing time together for their children. i think it’s easy to forget that the transition is huge for everyone but that children don’t understand those kind of transitions well yet. props to both of them! i’m sure it’s not easy, anyone who goes through a break up no matter the circumstance would probably agree 💜

You are awesome! How great that your kids get to see their parents laughing together and enjoying these special moments together with them. So fun to witness the joy of Easter morning when they're so young! And lots more years to come... my kids are 10, 13, and 15, and they still had an egg hunt on Easter morning. Granted, it was (as requested) a "tricky" treasure hunt, and they had to work hard to find the clues and eggs, but it's been fun evolving the hunt over the years, as they grow. Happy Easter! :)

Happy easter. I know it can't be always be easy to spend time with Don with the kids, but as a child of divorce I know how important it is. My parents always got along, never used us (the kids) against the other parent, helped each other, and it made all the difference in the world. My parents have been divorced for about 37 years now and my Dad still goes over to visit my Mom's Mom on a weekly basis and takes her to run errands. You are doing a spectacular job.

I usually go to church on Easter, but haven't been able to go to church in several weeks due to the all the churches being closed down, mine included. I miss not being able to go to church none. It just lifts me up and brightens my day and helps me get ready for the week. Happy Easter.

Easter Egg Hunt tip when the nephews were separate ages with one much younger - I primed their buckets with one of each color in their buckets (pink, yellow, blue) -- (green, purple, orange) - so the hunt was to match the colors in your bucket - that way the little one had a chance. I was proud of myself as it worked out great. I also did two golden eggs and the $1 bill was a great sum when you're 2 and nearly 4. I enjoyed the blog and seeing the Easter fun.
