Seeking validation for everything has been programmed into society as a way to almost justify our existence. So I think I always strived to be good at my hobbies, to a point where it took the enjoyment out of them. Thank you for the reminder sissel, will try to just do things for the pure enjoyment of things, no expectations.

I realize that age does not matter in the content of this vlog. I am 64 years old, and I realize that passion before work should be a definite goal in life. I worked all my life from the age of 15years old to 62. Health issues made me stop working, or else I probably would continue that path until I died. I sat for months in a slump because I did not know what to occupy all this new time I had. One day, I came across your channel. Something about you sparked my being into action. Like a flame to a wick on a candle, it started a journey of self learning. Self learning about what makes me happy, what passions, I use to love in my youth, new learning on any and all subjects, health betterment... I could go on and on. I totally agree passions are indeed good for mental clarity. I will follow you forever. You brought back the girl I use to be instead of the old lady I had become.

I enjoy how you always shower and STILL have time to do whatever before leaving the house. I never feel the typical “Omg I’m late again” trope that most people like. The video is relaxed and peaceful. Also says a lot about your character

Because most of us are obsessed with hustle culture doing something just for fun is almost foreign to me. But I love that you remind us that enjoying the small moments in life for the simple purpose of dining joy is just as important as productivity. Thanks for this reminder 💜
@sisselab2 жыл бұрын
The issue lies in thinking in order to be productive, every minute we have “excess” of has to be used for hustling. It’s so important to spare these for just ... being 💚

Wow, you seem so relaxed and genuinely happy in this video. Such a pleasure to watch you this comfortable (in lack of a better word). You are reaching new levels!

I found this video inspiring. Lately I've been thinking about what it is I truly want and how I can create the life I truly desire while finding hobbies and activities that bring in passion and happiness. At the moment I'm kind of stuck, being forced to study in a university and study a career I do not want. I'd love to drop out and pursue my passions, but until I can find a way to leave home, I'll have to stick with this. But in the meantime I can find something else that inspires me and brings me joy. ❤️

I was talking about the same topic with my friend the other day. I feel like as we grow up and get older we tend to focus so much on working and being productive all the time that we tend to forget about these little things we used to love as kiddos. For me itš draving, doodling, ceramics, making jewelery etc. thank you for reminding me

You look refreshed, Sissel! It seems like you've gained new motivation, so thanx for passing on the good vibes ✨ I've been an employee since I was 18 and have tried many professions to find a job that I'm truly good at. What made me feel like I was struggling increased from year to year until it became a burden. I ended up going to work like a robot, leaving there feeling empty and instead of cherishing the few hours left of my spare time I preferred cuddling up in bed, not being able to sleep cause I was worrying so much. I wasn't burnt out, but I felt like I was no better than average and peoples expectations kept weighing me down. I wasn't proud of talking about my job, I was more ashamed to talk about it. But then, a few years ago I realised this wasn't the way to live a life. I started to be part-time self employed and realised I was good at it because I loved what I did! Then last year I worked up the courage of being full-time self employed. I was afraid all the responsibility could be too much, but I was doing well because I was highly motivated and as a person it completely changed my mind set. Now I enjoywork and my spare time even more. But even when you are happy, there are downfalls. I had tough time with some relationship issues (7th year curse is real! LOL) and it totally threw me of in my creative ways. I felt stuck. But once you realise you are the one in charge of solving the issue it all goes back to a positive streak! What I want to say is that even when you are doing well and seem to have the upper hand, it's ok to struggle. It's truly just a phase and you're in control of finding a way to make yourself feel better 💚☺️

Your video arrived just in time for me. These past days I was so focused on doing very productive things and I reached a point where my days were just that, me doing these "productive" things 24/7. I felt so drained and unhappy. But yesterday I started a new hobby, which is watercolor painting and while doing so, I felt so good, I was finally doing something different and it basically filled my heart 💕

This resonates a lot with me. I am in a weird and painful part of my life where I just lost my identity and landmarks about what is a "great" life. My values have been destroyed and I feel so lost without them. It's hard to think about making a great life for yourself when you have to unlearn all what society taught you until now :s hard and painful but exciting !
@karenb3612 жыл бұрын
I really needed this. As a final-year university student, I've been stuck in this cycle of productivity for a while, meaning that I have had little time (or little motivation) to reconnect to my hobbies. It's as if studying and working are the only things I can dedicate myself, otherwise I won't be as productive as I want to be. Yet, hobbies can be such a healthy distraction that your mind and body need. Thank you for this amazing reminder!

8 years ago I moved to Switzerland for money. To find a normal job and get out of the ''survival mode'' I was stuck in. In two months I will be moving back to my homeland. I have an amazing job, amazing coworkers, options to get promoted but it doesn't do it for me. And now I am going back without a plan, job, apartment. Just turning a new page because it got too comfortable. And I am scared but at the same time really excited. Because you know what? It will work out. Without even knowing I will make it work. And this time I will not be employee. I will not wait for the weekends to come. It will work out. Just like I did it 8 years ago despite not knowing the language, not having anyone here. And Sissel beacause of you I am even more excited haha. :D You just make me wanna live and explore more.

This video came out at a perfect time for me, today i was trying to study at a library but i just couldn´t because i was tired. I spent 2 hours trying to be productive, then i saw the notification, started the video but couldn´t finish it so i went back home, had a nap and now it´s night time, i´m having my dinner while finishing, so yeah, totally right about this. Society maKe us work non stop so we can survive, but we barely live. There somedays that i don´t see my mum and we live in the same house just because she has to work her ass off. I´m so tired sometimes, life should not be this way, for me what´s keeps me going is trying to do something for myself every day. SO TO EVERYONE READING THIS, WE CAN DO IT, RIGHT?

These days too I've been having breakdown more than usual too and gaming is kinda a distraction from everything but my mother always makes me feel guilty of doing so lately too she be criticising me of all the things that makes me feel good as a way to make me feel guilty only because my medical exam is around the corner and not caring for the rest. Hi Sissel!, your video is so relaxing, thank you. I have a couple of advices for your painting practice :) You should try to mix your acrylics on a piece of glass, so they don't get absorb by the paperboard. Also, for mixing colors I recommend you to use an spatula, it's easier that way. Have a nice day! 🌺💗🌺💗
