When I think about my body, I try and approach it from a place of “I have put my body through so much (restrictive eating, overuse of antibiotics and meds, not enough sleep, stress etc) and yet here my body is, still working for me and trying it’s best. It’s miraculous how resilient it is and I’m soo grateful it’s still putting in the work for me as I try to heal

Dear Michel Your videos aren't boring at all . I swear I watch them because they reflect true life events that aren't predictable and ever changing. Plus the wisdom that you add to each phase or challenge that you encounter . Just wanted to let you know that which might give you some peace of mind.

I think all of our bodies are actually MUCH more sensitive and delicate than we think they are. We should all be gentle with our bodies and "babying" our bodies all the time. 💗 still, I understand your frustrations! here's to positivity and positively loving our bodies!!

I was also listening to a podcast of a functional medicine practitioner talk about acne. The gist was that acne is your body showing you something is off. And while its not pleasant, some other bodies would show first signs as more serious illnesses, so in that regard thank you body for showing me what i can do to help you now before escalating to a life or death situation

On the topic of being kind to yourself and your body: A friend once told me “if you wouldn’t say it to your future (or current) daughter, don’t say it to yourself.” Easier said than done, but a good reminder to be gentle ❤️ Not an autoimmune girly but I have been experiencing lots of health challenges this year. It’s hard.

Michel - I can’t remember when I found your channel, but I know it was before I received my autoimmune diagnosis. Now that I know a little more about why my body feels tired and under the weather so often, I have so much more compassion for it and myself in general. I related so much to what you said at the end of this vlog, so thank you for sharing your journey. It makes me feel seen and reminds me that I’m not alone in this journey!

I literally love all of your videos Michel but this one hit ✨different✨ I am someone struggling a lot with my body and trying to get a proper diagnosis and I really resent my body and struggle A LOT with that. This was an amazing reminder that it’s the only one we’ve got and we have to have that patience and grace we’d give to others for ourselves. Thank you for this. 💖

Remember to care for You too!!❤ We can't help others when we don't first help ourselves. I know because I was Mom's caregiver and I ran myself so ragged I kept getting sick. So, take very good care of yourself. It's not being selfish( that's what I always thought). It's actually very important so we Can help others. Okay, you have just received my Mom/ Grandma speech. Just a note on the shampoo! Due to hormonal and environmental changes, our hair sometimes needs different things throughout the month. And If you aren’t already, including a chelating clarifying shampoo once every 4/5 washes can make a big difference in how effective all haircare is. Hope this helps!

As a fellow Lupus girlie, I completely get what you're saying and struggle at times with feeling the same way. I also struggle with not letting my head stay in the "when is the next shoe going to drop" when I'm actually feeling better than I usually do.( I.e. how long will it last). That's where I tend to get in trouble because I try to do all the things while I feel well enough to do them so that I won't feel as bad or lazy when I do get sick. In the end though I usually overextend myself making me flare sooner than I would have. It's such a vicious cycle! The way I get through all of it is with the simple mantra "It is what it is " and all I can do is roll with it as it comes and do what I can to make it better and not worse. Stay strong and please find comfort in knowing that you are not alone!

I truly envy your disapline and energy. My autoimmune involves pain. And I'm always trying to do things like my closet and cleaning, cooking, doing laundry for three men and myself on a daily basis. My son's are in their 30's and are disabled in two different ways. I end up by nighttime in so much pain I can't sleep. This takes a toll on my body and it doesn't have time to heal before I start the next day. Some days by afternoon when I've made everyone lunch, I lay down on the couch with the two dogs which I also take care of and my husband will go by and I can tell he thinks I'm being lazy. Before I turn over it's time to take the clothes out of the dryer then make dinner. So yes I do know how you feel times 3 more adult and two dogs!! Blessing your way! Take care!!❤❤and prayers too!

Your content is not boring and did not suffer from you being sick. You mentioned something that really made me think about our bodies. As someone who suffers from PTSD my body has really taken on everything I have been through. I know when I am having a PTSD episode because I will get into more accidents, such as tripping, bumping into things, breaking bones, ect. I truly get sick when my PTSD has taken over and I am on auto pilot ignoring my basic needs. Your comment reminded me to be kind to myself and that sometimes you just have to step back and do what is right for you. Thank you for the reminder. Thank you for your kindness and just being you.

Oof. That bit at the end about it being hard to heal a body that you hate. I needed to hear that. My body frustrates me pretty much all the time. I’ve struggled with this body since I was a kid and aging isn’t exactly helping. 😄 I remember the first time I heard a yoga teacher reminding us to thank our bodies for the way they support us and carry us into our day. It blew my mind. I’d never thought about thanking my body for anything; it had always been a source of frustration or something I tried to ignore. I’ve been caught up in my frustration again and have been forgetting to be grateful for what my body can do and the way that it supports me. Thank you for the reminder! ❤

Bless your heart! Never boring. It’s life! Ups and downs, good and bad. I love that you think about and verbalize your struggles and work to find a better way! It can be very frustrating when your body can’t do what you want it to, but being kind to it physically and mentally is so important as well as the mind/body connection! And then there’s gratitude! I keep reading/hearing about how good it is to practice it.Take care, hang in there! (I find with any shampoos/conditioners I use, I need to change them up. I have about 3 different kinds in my shower and rotate them regularly.)

Thank you for taking the time to vlog even when you're sick. I'm laying down sick, as well, dealing with the after effects of Humira (biologic shot) for my autoimmune arthritis, while watching this. I have hypothyroidism and my PCP is figuring out if it's Hashimoto's (also autoimmune) or not. I'm learning to listen to my body and rest when needed. I'm finding out I get sick more when I don't. I really appreciate your autoimmune content. It helps knowing there's others out there that get run down, and sick, as well. At 47, I'm still learning how to love my body and approach my rough days with love. It's a learning curve. Hope you feel better soon. ❤

New follower, found you this year & have binged watched your videos. Your videos are always soothing & calming. We have a lot of similarities in decor. I too have an autoimmune disease, MS, I feel betrayed by my body daily. I miss going for long walks without having to think about the actual steps I am taking. Long walks require a walking aid. 💔 I will be 38 this year & using a Walker to get around is depressing. I look healthy & “normal” on the outside. Having an invisible disease is frustrating. I also have cognitive issues & things do not clícalas easy as they used to in my mind.

Hi, lovely girl. Firstly, I just wanted to say that I very much enjoy your content. We have very different beliefs, but I still relate to you a lot and believe that you are a beautiful human ( from what I can tell, because, obviously I don't know you in 'real life ') I was totally bedridden for over a decade because of my various autoimmune issues and other chronic illnesses. It was so severe that I couldn't move, lift my head, bear light, sound, touch, strong smells, even. I was in constant agony, and part of that was full body nerve pain , which was morphine resistant. I had full body cramps and spasms, too, which could make it impossible to take a breath when they hit my diaphragm. I could not do anything for myself. I even became incontinent, I lost my voice for many of those years (which almost broke me because I was a singer/songwriter) I couldnt even listen to music anymore, or use my lap top, or read books, or have conversations most days. I was isolated being stuck in one room, I missed out on so much with my little boy and lost all of my friends, barring one, and then, . My husband. My whole life, I'd struggled and been told by everyone around me that I was just depressed or lazy or unmotivated in the years before I became that ill. I was told to push through the clear warning signs that my body was giving me, so I did push because I'm not lazy or unmotivated, I had plans for my life, and I worked very hard. ( To be clear, I'm in no way saying that depression is being lazy or unmotivated ..that was just the attitude of the people around me. I have CPTSD, so I know depression can indeed be debilitating) Anyway, I pushed and pushed until one day , about a year after my son was born, I collapsed on the stairs, and I didn't get back up again until about three years ago. I am happy to say that after years of trial and error and my own research and finding the right diet, the right combo of supplements, learning to listen to my body instead of other people, and some other changes. I am improving. I still have to spend most of my time lying down (in part due to POTS) , and it's still a hard existence, but I got music back last year , which makes me unspeakably happy, I get to spend so much time with my now 15 year old son , which makes me even more unspeakably happy, I can take quite a few steps now, I have a wonderful partner ( you and your partner actually remind me a lot of us.) He is teaching me what being loved and being in a partnership should feel like. I've watched that happen to you too and that's been a joy. Its like you realise "Oh, I don't have to hurt all of the time, I don't have to have this brick in my stomach and this tightness in my chest every second of every day. I don't have to practice every conversation before I have it with them , in case something I say 'sets them off' and I don't have to feel unwanted, unloved and disgusting and be neglected and ignored. Wow, love can be something that actually feels safe and good and life enriching!" I'm even getting back to making 'art' and building things again. And yesterday I sat in a chair and I made coffee and scrambled eggs for me and my dad ... I know that sounds like nothing, but it's been over a decade since I could do that! I was so tired and in so much pain after, and I had to sit down to do it, but still. However, today, I feel dreadful. Today, I can't speak, I have a fever, my face, neck, glands, and joints are very swollen, my skin is on fire and I've had to have silence for most of the day so far. I also feel sick to my stomach and, like my muscles, are made of lead and my head is full of treacle, and if I haven't made a thousand errors in this very long comment, I'll be shocked. I am FRUSTRATED !!! I have spent this morning being angry that my body won't just let me live a 'normal life' ... here's the thing, that's OK. It's not a woe as me attitude. It's human and normal, and it's healthy. Complaining actually has an evolutionary purpose, and there is solid scientific evidence that it's good for you..yell, curse, be mad, and then try to find gratitude again if that's what helps you. Humans have this whole spectrum of emotions for a reason, and I'm sure you don't need to hear it from a stranger on the internet. You're a smart, self-aware person, but just incase , because I know how much pressure is piled onto sick people to always be super positive (especially people that share their lives online), you're allowed to be angry that you got dealt a shitty hand health wise, you're allowed to be sad, and to wallow sometimes, you're allowed to grieve for the version of yourself you were/thought you would be. I do think it can be very helpful to try to find things to be grateful for and to try to keep perspective and a relatively positive outlook . There is also science to back that up , but you know, don't forget that a lot of the people that demand that, especially from sick people, demand it ,not because they want whats best for you, but because it makes them more comfortable. Obviously, a lot of people are genuinely well, meaning if misguided, but a lot just don't want to be confronted with other people's reality , especially if it forces them to consider their own health or their mortality. Wow, I'm sorry this was an entire novel. Haha .. Basically, what I'm trying to say is... Think of me when you're struggling to rest and listen to your body. You're absolutely doing the right and essential thing and remember that you're allowed to feel all of your feelings. I very much hope that you're feeling better today. I am sending you virtual chicken soup and tea with a side of hugs and empathy. ❤

I think I should mention this about shampoo. After some time of using a certain shampoo and it seems like our hair, "gets used to it," because it doesn't get as clean, or maybe feels limp with build up.... the issue is not that our hair gets used to it. The issue is that if we're not in practice of using a clarifying shampoo at least once a month, we may get a lot of build up. This build up can be from oils, styling products, hard water build up from your shower (some cities have harder water than others), etc. For a good clarifying shampoo to use once a month, I recommend one with a chelating ingredient to get even the hard minerals out of your hair. Then follow up with a nice deep conditioner that's right for your hair type to restore that moisture. As someone with wavy/curly hair, I can tell when my hair needs some clarifying love when my styling products don't seem to work. I used to think the issue was that my hair was getting used to a certain shampoo. But I didn't realize I needed to clarify my hair once a month.. especially with a chelating shampoo that will remove the hard water minerals I get from my shower. For a good clarifying shampoo with a chelating ingredient, I recommend this one. It's, B Brocato by Beautopia Hair, Deep Cleansing Peppermint Scrub Purifying Shampoo. I recommend looking it up yourself to make sure you're not allergic or sensitive to any of the ingredients. Maybe even look up certain ingredients if you're not sure what they are. But, whether you try out this one or a different one, I Definitely recommend using a clarifying shampoo with a chelating ingredient once a month to clear out any build up of oils, products, and hard water minerals.

I had a similar thing with shampoos... Then I tried viori bar shampoo, I've been using it for 2 years now and only occasionally wash with a clarifying shampoo after going too long between washes.

Acceptance. I had to accept that if I want to have a busy job and achieve a lot in my life, that I rest when I need to and most weeks take a day of rest. Acceptance of the limitations of my body gave me peace. Just a thought to share..

Our hair needs aren’t always going to be the same month to month, or even week to weekdue to the weather, exercise sweat, how much heat we’re using… or products were using or not using ect. that’s why shampoos feel off. Good to have a clarifying shampoo, hydrating and middle ground one and use best judgement when to use them💆🏻‍♀️

Under Luna for shampoo and conditioner! Very simple/clean ingredients, only wash once a week (with daily rinses if I workout). I get some many compliments on how healthy my hair is and my hair growth has been awesome!

Hi Michel! Im sorry you're feeling sick :( I just wanted throw out that that when people get sick after a stressful/busy/exciting time, it can actually be because the stress amps up many of the systems in your body, including the immune system, and then after the stressful event your immune system activity decreases a bunch and the decrease that happens when the stress goes away is what can actually make you susceptible to illness. I remember I think you mentioned before in a vlog that you often get sick when you go home to your parents and that you feel like you almost let your guard down too much and thats why you might get sick, this is the same idea! Of course, autoimmune problems always complicate things but I just wanted to mention this idea in case the concept helps you or anyone else! Hope you feel better soon:)

Love the sailboat in the tv room, because it really does jive with the colors in that room better. The only thing that's wrong with the art in the room with the jungle rug is that it's too tall. If you're going for a jungle feel you could nod to that with a jungle tribal piece, either sculpture, basket or print or maybe sculpture and smaller print to the side...depending on what you find. On the neutral side if you keep the rug. I like the idea of changing the rug though to something less nursery like. I wouldn't go very tall with the art piece...I'd look for something lower that keeps the focal point focused on the beautiful cabinet. Even plants that cascade could add to that jungle feel.

I just found you recently on You Tube and it's been so enjoyable to watch! You are just so real and authentic. It's refreshing. I have to ask, can we get a makeup routine sometime soon? I love how fresh and clean your makeup always looks! I've been trying to accomplish something similar but have yet to succeed. I'd love to know what products are your favorites!

Currently watching this in the same boat as you Michel. Thankfully my fever broke & my throat is a little less sore. Thankfully, I work in a school, next week is Spring Break, & I took PTO. Not the way I anticipated starting my break but watching Netflix all day has been fun lol. Hoping you feel better!
