I was honestly suprised when you said that you were insecure when you compared yourself with other people your age. I am 22 at the moment and I really look up to you and everything you have achieved and with that I don't mean the materialistic things (although I wouldn't mind switching clothes and house), but I am talking about the wisdom you have. Everybody is insecure now and then, but it takes guts to put yourself out there like you do and share your life with us, both the highs and the lows. I sure hope you continue making video's as long as this feels good for you, because I genually enjoy watching you and everytime a new video pops up on my feed it just makes me really happy!

Happy Birthday!! I have been following along for the past two years, and it is such a joy watching your vlogs. From the outfit inspiration, book reviews, to your conversations about mental health, imposter syndrome (which I struggle with) and just general life things. It has been a nice outlet to have through the pandemic and after. I look forward to continuing to following along. Also -- I know the UK beauty industry is a little bit more strict regarding what they include as ingredients in their products. But, awhile ago my mother had a similar allergy pop up and it turned out to be Formaldehyde in products (even "clean" products) across the board.

I have so much to say. The Mango collab shows you in a different yet still "you" light and the quality is excellent. I've also had troubles with my Hokas, so it's nice to hear I'm not alone despite rave reviews of them! I actually went from the regular to a wide fit and trained for/ran a half marathon, but they still don't feel great. Looking forward to seeing how a different size treats you or if you find any strategies for making them more comfy! Also -- recommend the Three Body Problem by Liu Cixin -- kind of like an existential sci-fi drama set during and post-Cultural Revolution China. So, so good.

Belated happy birthday. Compleletly get what you said about turning 30, although for me 30 was ok, it was turning 40 that messed with my head and had so much extra anxiety but now i'm 42 I am a lot less bothered, become much more accepting of myself. Love your book reviews, read so many of your recommendations now. Southwold is lovley, fish and chips or sometimes The Swan for a special occasion!

There is also so much subliminal messaging in the media, fuelling consumerism etc. etc., and I know it's there, but still I buy into it. She was arrested during the beginning of the Cultural Revolution and confined for more than six years, but eventually was able to move to the US in the 1980s

Just in case it helps.I had a periodic allergy that caused lip swelling. After 3 years it turned out to be caused by low dose aspirin - check any nsaids and also if you have a high intake of histamine provoking foods!

About your flare ups: I used to have similar issues with my eyes and it turned out that it was caused by certain foods (histamine intolerance). Maybe worth checking it out? Love your vlog!

Great vlog as always, loved the shots at the art museums in Barcelona. Concerning your allergies; my aunt struggled with allergies for a long time until she found the culprit, which in her case turned out to be some kind of substance that is put in the air on planes (don't remember what it was called). She spent a lot of time on extensive testing in regards to different foods first, so maybe mention this to the doctor, just a thought xx

If you're interested in some non-fiction about the revolutionary period in China i highly recommend Liao Yiwu's "The Corpse Walker". Xue Xinran's "The Good Women of China" focuses on women's lives during the revolution and after. "China in Ten Words" by Yu Hua is a novel that I always recommend for people looking for a more introductory text to Chinese culture and history.

Funny you should say this -- I've just started learning Spanish! The more I visit, the more awkward I feel, not knowing how to have a basic conversation, and with the prospect of traveling over there more frequently for work, I thought to myself, I've gotta learn! Wherever I go, I try to familiarise myself with phrases that will get me by, but I totally get that niggly worry you're referring to. Honestly....I just avoid talking to people. 😂 It's definitely inspired me to learn more languages, though!

I get swelling around my eyes, called angioedema, caused by pollen and treatments that work for me are either steroids or injections I get from my dermatologist called xolair and dupilumab. Maybe something for you to look into if you don't figure out what is causing your issues, since those medications are used for eczema as well.

You could reframe not being able to drive as a good thing for the planet & climate - instead of seeing it as a personal failure! Transport is the largest CO2 emitting sector in the UK, so not driving (& flying!) is a good thing.
