Oh Phil, how I agree with you about the long dark nights. As I get older I seem to dislike this time of year even more! The Winter Solstice will be very welcome. I must say your boat is looking amazing. I almost thought you were on a different one. What a difference some white paint makes, and I do believe the lightness of the room can truly help to lift spirits. Your plants and the deer (?) skull look great - you’ll be doing an interior design vlog before long. My very best wishes to you, Bushka and Midge for Christmas and the New Year x

Merry Christmas Phil, I know how you feel during winter. Gets dark at 4pm here on Long Island, New York and by 6pm you think it's 10pm and it's only 6pm 🤣. Thanks for the great video and Have a Happy and Healthy New Year! I give my 2 cats Christmas presents and I wrap them up! Take care my friend

Hi Phil, I love what you have done to the inside of your boat. The white has really made a huge difference and makes it look younger. The green plants compliment it well, also the coloured lights. It's a shame about feeling bored during the long evenings, is it possible for you to have a chat with friends, for a bit of company?

Phil, I live in Canada at about the same latitude as you, And I also dislike the short days of December. One thought that helps me cheer up, is that without these short days, we wouldn't have the glorious long June days. Imagine living at the equator, where every day and night was the same 365 days a year. I'm sure the monotony would make my brain shrivel up and die.

It's now the end of early Sprjng and onto warmer weather in our new climate change winter. Yes, decluttering is always good. I'll start too, and we'll see how it goes. Your boat looks very green with the plants 🪴 in good shape and the fresh paint. Hope your day was sunny !

The boat looks fantastic been a sub for years keep at .We also live on a narrowboat your very right regarding winter for me it's about sitting it out until spring. Its all about the preperation and keeping your mind busy in the boat our two cats are in until spring by the looks of it 😀 👍

The glass broke in my stove so I replaced it with sheet steel. Still nice and warm, you just can't see the fire.

Hi Phill , I know what you mean , November is all leaves falling on the boat roof and trying to moor away from trees !! Then suddenly it's December and ice on the water then I think oh I hope the gas is ok or enough water I was in Rugerley this time as the temperatures had been above freezing to suddenly plunge to minus 4 overnight it was a nasty shock to feel my boat wouldn't rock about stuck fast So at 11 am I could here a great crunching sound and a boat engine a boat was coming through 😏 so glad to have a steel hull but another boat followed coming up , so I new I needed a gas bottle so I had to get to Kings Bromley so where the two boats had come I kept to the centre hoping that they had come a good distance but ice isn't nice as it wasn't to joine up again But I made it but removed a bit of blacking from the bow so I decided with hardley any solar in winter I have gone into the Marina for three months Just nice to have electric hookup too And water on tap as January is horrible And February is getting lighter so ready for ventures new. Does your engine charge the house batteries or are you purely solar on that side? I looks much better inside now. A much brighter place to be.

Almost totally solar these days. Engine is too noisy.

Watching paint dry can be a bit boring, even talking about it, so I suggest going the pub and talking to people, get pissed, gamble, meet women, don’t talk about paint. Your ok push yourself.
