Spent a few hours of my life testing a few Fusion5 wireless usb dongles of some mice and keyboards i got at an auction. The mice connect to anything, the keyboards need specific dongle, which sucks. Anyone knows how to hack drivers of device ID 4101 produced by "MOSART Semi." to re-assign another keyboard?
Reminds me that you should always prefer Logitech for wireless mouse and keyboard.
Have an extra ASUS USB dongle, which should work fine as a generic bluetooth capture device.
Have an extra microsoft model 1494 R 201-125617, which seems is only good as a paperweight, and not very good at that either since it's rather light. Microsoft wireless keyboard usb dongles come programmed from factory to only work with a single specific unique mouse and keyboard, making them useless if you lose one of the parts. Talk about electronic waste and mindless consumist society crimes! If anyone knows any hack to make this usable for something please let me know. :)

Dozens of these wireless keyboards at my local garbage dump, all with no dongles. Its such a deliberate waist, should be illegal to make them without a replacement dongle.

Just went through the exact same Logitech result experience. This video is really helpful to at least let others know we are not going crazy and other people are getting the same results. Its strange when you start making it to the third page on google looking for results based on what you actually typed in the search 😂

I have the same issue, I won't buy a Microsoft keyboard or mouse from now on, I will only buy Logitech now.

I bought a logitech M331 mouse of 1.5k Indian Rupees and lost dongle after a year, not that I look for solution they suggest to buy Unifying receiver which is 4.5k INR. For that money I can buy 2 more mouse !

Definitely been wasting my time too. I have this ASUS WX-Lamborghini mouse but lost the dongle for it a few years back, so I have been trying to find a reasonable solution for the past couple of hours and everything shows the freaking Logitech unifying receiver and articles/reviews about it.

Microsoft are not eco friendly: If you lost the receiver, then threw away the keyboard. Logitech: If you lost the receiver, then just need to buy a new receiver / USB dongle.
