A suggestion: Check out Wendigoon's history videos. He's known more for his horror content, but he has a ton of videos on strange history that would be fun to see reactions to (check out his vids on the assassination of Franz Ferdinand (Principe truly managed to bungle his way to success), the MLK assassination (James Earl Ray was absolutely a patsy and J. I hear what you say about Yellow Journalism in the past. Political parties around the world often started as newspapers that eventually grew into political parties. Adolph Tier, the founder of the French third republic started out editing a newspaper. Vladimir Lenin started the newspaper Iskra before the official Bolshevik party grew out of that tabloid. Plenty of political parties have been founded around newspapers.

Here is a weird fact: In 1972 Arthur Bremer tried to assassinate George Wallace who was running for president at the time. He originally wanted to take out Nixon btw. This story at least partially inspires the screenplay for the movie Taxi Driver. This movie and its casting would inspire John Hinckley Jr to try to assassinate Ronald Reagan in 1981. This can be an example of two strangely connected events.

Love your reactions as always Chris. I have been playing Baldur's Gate 3 for a while now and I can say it is an amazing game. However, I have never played DnD which I understand is the basis of BG3 so I have definitely gotten my teeth kicked in multiple times. That said I have not had much trouble with finding sources on line that have helped me build my knowledge and I am definitely getting better at it. It is not a game for everyone but I can definitely recommend giving it a try to see what you think. Speaking of "not for everyone" I do NOT recommend playing it around small children or anyone squeamish regarding mature content and if you are thinking of doing any videos on your gaming channel you will want to make sure certain options are disabled.

Additional info: The note sounds like it was written by an actual Brazilian person, but we don't usually use the phrase: "se foder" (fuck you, fuck off, etc) in that way, so it kind of sounds like a Brazilian person was given an English script to translate from directly. Still, not bad. Also, I have never seen anyone use "jaja" for laughing, and I had to research it myself to know what it was, we usually use "kkkkk" or "rsrsrs" or "shuaushuahs".

A series I think you, and a lot of people, will REALLY enjoy in extra history, policing London. I slept on it for a long while and it's one of my favorites. It tells you how they did 'policing' before and the twists and turns they had to do before they got the 1st official police force and it's honestly one of their best series and just naturally a bit funny (a long with the tulip mania one) please check that one out bc I would love to learn any more facts you have about the surrounding times or anything else you got!

24:30 there's an interesting parallel here to the Cuban Missile Crisis. In that situation, a downed American plane (U-2 pilot Maj. Rudy Anderson) caused the crisis to resolve. Both leaders were smart men who understood that war wasn't an option. In this situation, if they'd shot that plane down, it would've been war. Charles de Gaulle was no Nikita Khrushchev. He would've ended the world on principle. The US would've backed Brazil, and it might have become ww3.
