My husband has coached high school football for 20 years and he has said that you can tell that boys aren’t outside playing ball anymore. The kids have very little “football sense” like they use to when he first started. Playing football on a video game isn’t the same as getting a group of guys together out in the yard playing real football.

They dont play enough sports and then you get morons who want to win at 10 years old. Parents just as bad if not worse being so dumb and ignorant but just following what the corrupt and evil portray. Its really sad. Ultimately they all need to play more and experience life but they think they know after one time. I was dropkicked out of the house. We were the last of the free range kids. My only problem right now is I want to move FURTHER out away from civilzation. We're out enough that we can cut down our own bonfire material and do. I've been known to sleep outside just because I can stare at the stars. Kids need THAT. Wow....love that!! My son says he was trained to social distance when he was young cause he was always getting grounded. These days I would have to ground him by turning off the computer (which happened when he was young too), video games, phone and kicking his ass out of the house. An FYI to all you young parents, when my son was young I just happened to be at the store and saw him out the window crossing the street at the traffic light LIKE I TOLD HIM TO DO. When he got home he proudly told me he did that. I said "I know". He asked how I knew. I told him that I had people watching and reporting back to me. He believed that till he was nearly out of school. When I told him the truth, his reply was "you know how many things I didn't do cause I knew you'd find out??" He laughs about it now and admits it was a good move cause it kept him out of trouble.

I grew up playing video games and I did go outside when I was younger but that was because i had people to hang out with. Unfortunately I haven't hung out with anyone in 16 years and while that does appear to be disappointing I feel it's not entirely a bad thing. Personality wise i've stayed the same and not be influenced by other people who aren't on the level but i get you and toms point about going outside. I work so I have to go outside anyway every day but there's simply not enough time in a day for me to do alot of stuff, plus going to the park to play ball with myself isn't really worth it.
