So proud of your progress. I 100% recommend sports bras and bralettes at least until your weight stabilizes!! I had lost 260 lbs from my highest weight. For a while, I was just sewing my bras closed (I would remove the hooks and sew the hook part to the other side ... I did that to 5 of my bras). I have gone back to sports bras because my bra size varies too much. Since the pandemic started, I have been on steroids 8-9 times for a total of 70 days. A couple of those were for tendonitis in my foot during the height of the pandemic so no access to a swimming pool, and I had to limit my walking. I also had to have emergency abdominal surgery in May 2022 and was on MAJOR restrictions for 2 months. For the first 8 weeks, I wasn't allowed to do ANYTHING that would "engage my core" and had to keep my steps down (Week 1, I was not to exceed 5000 steps a day. Week 2, I was allowed up to 7000 steps. Week 3, it was up to 9000 steps a day. Week 4 - 5, I was allowed 12,000 steps. Week 6, I could go 15,000 steps. Week 7 - 8, I was allowed up to 20,000 steps a day. Now, I am allowed to do as many steps as I want, and I am allowed to lift up to 15 lbs ... as long as I wear my abdominal binder. Without my binder, I am only allowed to lift 10 lbs. Post-surgery, I also had to increase my protein to encourage healing. I was conflicted because I didn't want to eat more calories than I was burning, Historically, I have gained 20 pounds a week on steroids. Then my body doesn't like to get rid of that excess weight for about 6 months. I haven't been able to go 6 months between rounds of steroids. From early October to early November of this year, I was on steroids for 20 days. I was lucky not to gain 60 pounds. I "only" gained 35 pounds! Overall, I am still down 140 lbs from my highest (so I have gained 120 lbs since the pandemic started ... but it could have been 200 lbs JUST from STEROIDS, so I can't really complain).

Hey, currently in the tail end of a weight-loss journey! In terms of bras, I wear bralettes, which tend to be more forgiving size-wise. There are plenty of bralettes that can deal with bigger sizes (I’m an F cup FWIW). In terms of weight-loss recipes, I really like the Very Hungry Greek recipes! But I also just look up ways to lower the calories in foods I already like, such as adding egg to mashed potatoes to sub for butter and add a touch of protein. Maybe not the most helpful example in this instance, but you get the idea. Rooting for you!

For bras what I think would work best is to buy bras that are too small in the band, but purchase a bra extender (I am sure they are available in the UK?). But they will add at 1-3 inches to the band. Yes, they won't be a perfect fit, but at least they will fit you just right in the near future and you will get many months of wear then! Bras have always been an issue for me back in the day before they added more sizes to stores and that's always worked for me! Congrats on your progress thus far, you got this! 🌟

I can only wear Cottonique bras after wearing normal polyester bras for 30 years, I started developing a terrible body rash reaction to polyester. Cottonique bras are super comfortable and they are very simple, which I like. Some people may need more support but I love Cottonique bras, as they do not squish me or have horrible scratchy lace or stabby suffocating wires 😅

Buy a couple of sport bras. They stretch so you can wear them for much longer as you lose weight. Regular bras are way to expensive to buy with every size. Sports bras are not expensive and you can wear them even after dropping a couple of dress sizes. Your doing great! 😊

Hi Trina, in regards to the bra situation, I would say buy some stretchy bralettes as they're usually a bit cheaper than bras and they can change a bit more with your body, until you get to a size where you can buy cheaper bras, I've been having to buy new bras every month and had to start buying them from Primark until I'm at a point in my weightloss where it has stabilised so I can purchase more long lasting Bras :)

You need to get a pill box to help you with remembering the vitamins - you know like the ones elderly people have for all their meds? They’re super cheap on Amazon and you can just fill it up once a week (which means less effort than opening all the bottles and packets every day!) and keep it somewhere you’ll remember like by your bed or the sink 😊

I'm starting to be affected by my clothing sizes, now, too. My favorite skirt is falling off. All of my bras are too big. Underwear is too big - I bought more of that. I'm just continuing to wear things, as long as I can. I plan on going to my local thrift store (charity shop) for clothes, but I won't buy bras, underwear, or socks there. I've found that Pinterest is pretty good for recipes.

I'm happy that you're happy with your weight loss, and I can definitely see the difference in your face. I'm enjoying the updates, but I'm going to have to fast forward through the section where you tally up your weight loss because of all the diets I've done in the past. The numbers put me back in a really bad place mentally and it triggers restriction and disordered eating to hear people talking about weight loss journeys and numbers on the scale if I'm already struggling. I was a fat kid, I've done all the diets, I'm still fat; all I ever managed was to lose the same 2stone and put it all and more back on. I've considered WLS, but the restricted diet and huge number of pills you have to take for life, when I already have a pile of meds each morning for other conditions, really puts me off. Plus, the potential 'dumping syndrome' adverse effect doesn't sound fun. Suggested KZbin channels for meal ideas: Abbie Sharpe! Amazing ideas for balanced meals, no wellness wank rubbish, and she's a registered dietitian. I've been inspired to find a dietitian to help with some of my issues because of her. Just waiting for the referral.

I had lost a bunch of weight about 20 yrs ago, and kept it off for 4 years. Then in the 4th year I had the same problem as you, where my body was constantly screaming at me to eat, that it was hungry. I didn't know it was hormones that caused it. I just started eating and eating and never stopped. Needless to say over the years I regained the weight back plus 40 more pounds. I am trying to control how much I eat now to keep it at 2000 calories, but not always successful.

Question: I want to know how much spice you can tolerate. I imagine surgery on your stomach means blandish food at least at first, but as you're asking for recipes, I was thinking about what could help change up the taste without adding a lot to fill you up and wondered how spice factors into things?

Usa over here, we do have vitamin c gummies. Hopefully they have them over there. To make it easier for me I made it a routine, protein shake for breakfast and vitamins(drinks next to vitamin bottles), after a while u don't even think about it, you just do it. That time of the month since the beginning has always been an issue. Even with the gastric bypass, hunger gets unreal. Tend to over eat, 3.5 years since surgery and still a struggle.
